Hosted by Dolly Parton alongside co-hosts Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett, the 57th Academy of Country Music Awards was a two-hour concert event livestreamed globally on Prime Video tonight from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

One of the highlights of the show was industry veteran Miranda Lambert receiving the Entertainer of the Year award. What’s so special about this win in particular is that it qualifies her for the coveted Triple Crown Award. Her two wins tonight bring her total ACM Awards count to 37, more than any artist in ACM Awards history.

Lainey Wilson led the night in total wins with three, followed by Lambert and Carly Pearce with two wins a piece.

At the 2022 Academy of Country Music Awards, Morgan Wallen took home Album of the Year while Miranda Lambert won Entertainer of the Year.

Meanwhile, Lainey Wilson and Carly Pearce were the only nominees to win more than once, with Pearce taking home Female Artist of the Year and sharing a win for Music Event of the Year, and Wilson winning the ACM awards for New Female Artist of the Year and Song of the Year.

Wallen won the ACM award for “Dangerous: The Double Album,” released in early 2021 just before his career took a hit after he was videotaped using the n-word during a late night drinking session with friends. That appeared to be on his mind when he thanked “those who showed me grace along the way” during his acceptance speech.

The 57th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards nominations were announced on Thursday morning, February 10. The winners will be announced during a ceremony held on Monday, March 7, but unlike previous years when the awards show has aired on CBS on broadcast television, these will be exclusively livestreamed on Amazon Prime. Little Big Town appeared on The Tonight Show to perform their song “Sugar Coat,” a track off the band’s new album Nightfall.

Appearing on an empty stage with a white backdrop, the country group and their backing band let the melody and lyrics speak for themselves. “Sometimes I wish I liked drinking, sometimes I wish I liked pills/Wish I could sleep with a stranger but someone like me never will,” singer Karen Fairchild croons, giving the live rendition extra emotional weight.

Little Big Town detailed their ninth studio LP Nightfall, which will be released January 17th. The new album, which follows 2017’s The Breaker, features the quartet’s Grammy-nominated “The Daughters” as well as their current single “Over Drinking,” both of which will be available with pre-orders starting Friday, November 22nd.

Austin Film Festival has unveiled the first batch of films that will screen at its 25th-anniversary program taking place October 25 to November 1. Among the lineup is Boy Erased, the Joel Edgerton-helmed coming-of-age Lgbtq drama that stars Lucas Hedges, Russell Crowe, and Nicole Kidman.

In addition, Melissa McCarthy-starring biopic Can You Ever Forgive Me?, directed by Marielle Heller, will get a regional premiere at the fest, while Nia DaCosta’s directorial debut Little Woods, starring Tessa Thompson and Lily James, and Hannah Fidell’s comedy, The Long Dumb Road, with Tony Revolori and Jason Mantzoukas are also set.
