Have webtoons become the new source for anime adaptations? Following the success of Solo Leveling, plus several new releases that have been announced, it's no secret that the industry has found a new trend. And it continues with Eleceed, a 2018 webtoon by Jeho Son (Noblesse) and Zhena, which will be given an anime adaptation and is set to release next year.
A teaser video was published on the Eleceed YouTube channel, featuring the show's characters and some action-packed scenes straight from the webtoon. It also introduces the show's main characters: Kayden, a secret agent who's lying low as a cat, and Jiwoo Seo, an independent awakener who teams up with Kayden. Boys Over Flowers is often recognized as one of the most popular K-dramas to date, but if audiences are yearning for more after the series is complete, there are a number of dramas that are similar and just as great. Released in 2009, Boys Over Flowers is a fantastic Korean drama that follows a young woman named Geum Jan-di who begins attending an elite private school and finds herself getting caught up with a group of wealthy boys who call themselves F4. Jan-di stands up to the boys, making them reflect on their behavior and on Jan-di herself.
There are many aspects of Boys Over Flowers that are particularly enjoyable for K-drama audiences. For one thing, it is amazing to see Jan-di knock F4 down a peg, especially when the rest of their peers are happy to let them rule the school. In general, Jan-di's headstrong nature is exciting to watch...

The Television Academy’s 2022 “Pachinko” snub is infamous around these parts.
Soo Hugh’s sweeping generational drama — based on the novel by Min Jin Lee — is easily one of the best TV shows of the decade. It’s won plenty of awards, including a Critic’s Choice Award and a Peabody, yet Season 1 was all but shut out of the Emmys.
But that was before “Shogun.”
“Pachinko” would have been nominated against Emmy favorites “Ozark,” “Better Call Saul,” “Stranger Things,” and “Succession,” — good shows in their own right, but lacking in diversity — none of which competed with “Shōgun” and paved the way for non-English winner with a majority-Japanese cast.
“‘Shōgun’ was such an incredible show,” Hugh said in an interview with IndieWire. “I’m happy with that comparison. Obviously Anna (Sawai) was in both shows and her performance was just glorious. The more shows we have that tell stories of...
