Emily tripped down the minor step entering a church event; the vicar caught her. When she was leaving, Emily tripped up the same stage on the way out. Again in front of the vicar. Her Grandfather, who saw this, is quoted as saying, "Typical, not only can she make a grand entrance, she can make a grand exit and all." Rather than hide with embarrassment, Emily, true to her ways, turned and laughed.

While collecting her Award for 1st place in the Under 13s Ballroom at the National Championships in 2001 held in the Ballroom at Drayton Manor Theme Park. Emily's adrenaline was too much. One misstep and her right foot slid off on its own leaving her on the floor in full splits. Everyone got a glimpse of next week's washing as they say. Ever the professional, Emily stood up and took a bow right there on the spot. The cheer that went up. Upon completing the longest walk ever to the judges, curtsied and endured an even longer walk back to her parents laughing as she did. Showing from a young age that no matter what happens the show really does go on.
