Tory Jones is a Award-Winning Independent Filmmaker, Producer, and Director as well as the Founder of independent film company Jonestown Films, based in Kentucky.
An avid lover of film and the arts, Jones credits his passion for storytelling to the era of the video store and his consumption of movies with his parents, who cultivated and encouraged his writing of short stories and narrative pieces. Jones' humble beginnings in independent film began in 2009. His professional career found its footing with the inception of his low budget offering "The Wicked One" in 2016, which he followed up with a string of micro budget independent films. He funded his projects through private investments and crowdfunding campaigns, raising over $600,000 for his productions.
Over the course of 15 years, Jones produced, directed, and co-wrote 7 feature films before arriving at "The Boy from Below" which would serve as a bigger budgeted remake of his most well known film, thus bringing his career full circle. The film also began a re-calibration of his company and an expansion into different markets outside of feature films with a focus on different facets of content creation.
