Telemundo’s new primetime telenovela series, Velvet: El Nuevo Imperio, is set to premiere on Monday, May 19 at 9 p.m. Et.

The series is a modern reimagining of the Spanish TV series Velvet, which ran for four seasons on Antena 3.

The Casting Society will host a town hall for Latino actors as part of its ongoing Commitment to Equity in Entertainment in Casting Initiative, which is designed “to effect concrete change in how actors in historically underrepresented communities are afforded access to job opportunities.”

The town hall, titled ¡Mi Gente! For Latine Actors and with sponsorship from SAG-AFTRA, will be held virtually December 7 at noon Pt. Details here.

In recent years, the group has held similar town halls for African Americans, Asian Pacific Islanders, Native Americans and military veterans.

Spearheaded by board member Candido Cornejo, panelists will include casting directors Carla Hool, Victor Vasquez and Erika Sable Flores; director Luis Valdez; agent Natalie Moran; producers Greta Talia Fuentes and Jolene Rodriguez; actress Jeirmarie Osorio; manager Ivan De Paz; and casting executive Cesar Rocha. Carla Gugino’s upcoming drama “Leopard Skin” and Roselyn Sánchez’s “‘Til Jail Do Us Part” are among the slate of new original series heading to Peacock that TheWrap can exclusively reveal the premiere dates for.

“‘Til Jail Do Us Part,” a Spanish-language dramedy starring Sánchez, Kate del Castillo, Jeimy Osorio and Sylvia Sáenz, will debut Sept. 15.

The show will follow four women who “suffer their worst nightmare after the police arrest their husbands for being linked to the same criminal organization. Accustomed to a life of abundance, they now must join forces in the most unusual manner as they move from a carefree life of luxury to unleashing all their wiles and weapons to survive,” per a logline from the streamer.

“Leopard Skin,” starring Gugino, Amelia Eve, Gentry White, Philip Winchester, Margot Bingham, Gaite Jansen, Nora Arnezeder and Ana de la Reguera, makes its Peacock debut Nov. 17.
