’12 Rounds 3: Lockdown’ Review
Stars: Jonathan Good (aka Dean Ambrose), Roger R. Cross, Daniel Cudmore, Lochlyn Munro, Ty Olsson, Sarah Smyth, Rebecca Marshall, Kirby Morrow, Samuel Smith, Toby Levins, James Michalopoulos | Written by Nathan Brookes, Bobby Lee Darby | Directed by Stephen Reynolds

12 Rounds 3: Lockdown continues the long-running franchise with yet another WWE superstar given the chance to headline. This time round we have Dean Ambrose, a wrestler known for his anarchic, unstable nature who doesn’t play by the rules. And that’s essentially the same character he plays here – only this time his character, Shaw, also happens to be a cop. The only good cop in his precinct it would seem, given just how many men Shaw’s former partner turned nemesis, Burke, brings with him to take on Shaw!

Essentially another Die Hard clone (as were the first two movies), 12 Rounds 3 sees Shaw, following the death of his partner, finally return to active duty.

WWE Movie News: Dean Ambrose In “12 Rounds 3″ On Sept. 11
WWE.com

Dean Ambrose stars in a new WWE movie called “12 Rounds 3: Lockdown” that will be released in theaters and on-demand September 11.

It’s the third movie in the 12 Rounds series. John Cena starred in the original 12 Rounds in 2009 and Randy Orton was the lead in 12 Rounds 2 in 2013.

Here’s a synopsis of the film from WWE.com:

Ambrose plays Shaw, a detective that returns to active duty after the death of his partner. When he uncovers evidence linking his fellow officers to a murder, they frame him for a homicide he didn’t commit. Trapped in his own precinct, Shaw will do whatever it takes to expose the dirty cops and clear his name. With twelve rounds in the clip and one shot at redemption, nothing will stand in Shaw’s way in this action-packed thriller.

Ambrose is the lead character in the film directed by Stephen Reynolds.

‘Vendetta’ Blu-ray Review
Stars: Danny Dyer, Roxanne McKee, Vincent Regan, Bruce Payne, Emma Samms, Nick Nevern | Written and Directed by Stephen Reynolds

Danny Dyer is an actor who tends to take a lot of flak for his acting. In Vendetta I won’t say his performance is Oscar worthy but you get exactly what you expect, and that is Danny Dyer. He seems to lack emotion, or the ability to act it out. When playing a character who is meant to suppress all types of weakness and emotion, the performance actually fits.

Vendetta is a film that wants to be Death Wish, and that is a high level to fight for, I’d say it doesn’t get there, but in aiming so high it actually manages to have many good intensions. Dyer plays Jimmy Vickers, a “special ops interrogation officer” who returns home to find his parents have been tortured and murdered by a local gang.

Blue Is The Warmest Colour, Catching Fire, Computer Chess: this week's new films
Blue Is The Warmest Colour | The Hunger Games: Catching Fire | Computer Chess : Parkland | The Family | Breakfast With Johnny Wilkinson | Flu | ¡Vivan Las Antipodas! | Vendetta

Blue Is The Warmest Colour (18)

(Abdellatif Kechiche, 2013, Fra/Bel/Sp) Adèle Exarchopoulos, Léa Seydoux, Jérémie Laheurte. 180 mins

Beyond making viewers feel lecherous, this Cannes winner's already notorious sexual frankness is just one element in an intense, sensual study of a young woman learning about love, life and, yes, sex. It's storytelling at its finest: simple but detailed, and at times unbearably emotional.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (12A)

(Francis Lawrence, 2013, Us) Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson. 146 mins

The only post-Twilight teen franchise left standing brings media manipulation and simmering revolution to its next round of youth combat.

Computer Chess (15)

(Andrew Bujalski, 2013, Us) Patrick Riester, Myles Paige, James Curry. 91 mins

The cruddy video quality and geeky insularity of the early computing era are fondly rebooted in this delightful retro farce.

Film Review: 'Vendetta'
★☆☆☆☆ Ever since making an impression as loveable caner and Star Wars conspiracy theorist Moff in 1999's Human Traffic, Danny Dyer's subsequent filmography has largely been a case of diminishing returns. Recent years have seen him working almost exclusively within the realms of Dtv, endlessly regurgitating his crudely-drawn geezer persona which now feels a good decade past its sell-by date. Stephen Reynolds' Vendetta (2013) gloriously fails to buck the trend, registering as an all-time career low for the actor. In the same year which brought us the widely derided Run for Your Wife, that's quite a feat.

Vendetta Review
He’s been commendably honest about taking on under-par projects to pay his mortgage and turkeys like Pimp and Run For Your Wife have made Danny Dyer’s Pinter-endorsed heyday seem a distant Mockney memory. Unfortunately for Dyer and writer/director Stephen Reynolds, their collaboration on revenge thriller Vendetta will likely be judged by the star’s several cinematic sins. Which is a shame, because this Dagenham Death Wish – or Romford Rambo, if you like – isn’t just a slick and confidently made pot-boiler, it’s also a film featuring Dyer’s best performance since The Football Factory. Maybe even his best ever.

Styled as ‘judge, jury, executioner’ by the film’s surprisingly restrained marketing campaign, our hero Jimmy Vickers (Dyer) is on his way back from Afghanistan, hoping for a warm family welcome to wash away the memories of his Geneva Convention-flouting work for the Special Forces. But Jimmy...

Dyer stars alongside Vincent Regan, Bruce Payne, Roxanne McKee, Nick Nevern, Emma Samms, and Ricci Harnett

Stephen Reynolds (The Fall of the Essex Boys) directs from his own script, with Sothcott (Devil’s Playground, Eflie Hopkins) producing.

The deal was negotiated by Darren Laws for Caffeine Nights and Jonathan Sothcott for Richwater.

The first title announced as part of the deal is a paperback novelisation of Richwater’s forthcoming vigilante film Vendetta, adapted by crime writer Nick Oldham from the screenplay by Stephen Reynolds. It will be published in October.

Already announced is a movie edition of Dougie Brimson’s cult novel Top Dog which will be published to tie-in with the film version’s release by Universal in 2014.

The Fall Of The Essex Boys Review
We’re back in that muddy, rainy, remote country lane in Rettendon, Essex again with director Paul Tanter’s (The Hooligan Wars, Jack Falls) new angle on who was responsible for the deaths of Essex drug dealers Tony Tucker, Pat Tate and Craig Rolfe in December 1995 in The Fall of the Essex Boys.

The grizzly crime mystery has dominated Brit gangster folklore, always posing a fresh challenge for whoever brings another version to the big screen. Tanter has found another theory intriguing enough to rouse interest and provide an appealing watch, but it still falls victim to the clichéd Brit crime flick trap that such a genre film simply can’t escape from.

After the death of an ex-copper’s 18-year-old daughter from a bad ecstasy pill supplied by the notorious Essex Boys firm at Raquel’s nightclub in Basildon, Essex, Detective Inspector Stone (Ewan Ross) starts to see the...

Coming from director Paul Tanter (Jack Falls, The Rise and Fall of a White Collar Hooligan), the latest entry into the British gangster/true crime thriller genre is on the cusp of release here in the UK, and we’ve been given an exclusive clip to share with you.

“In the tradition of Rise Of The Footsoldier and Bonded By Blood, this film follows the rise and violent fall of the notorious Essex Boys, one of the most feared criminal gangs in Britain’s history. For the first time the real story is revealed in this film – the drugs, the violence and of course the murders. The real story is the most shocking of all.”

Nick Nevern (The Rise and...
