Her father, Guy Burgstahler, played minor league baseball.

Her brother, Taylor William Burgstahler, aged 17, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away July 17, 2005. Brooke and her family started a non-profit organization to assist under-privileged children called The Taylor Fund.

She is the first single host of The Slate, University of Miami's most popular TV show.
