Chicago Fire's new promo teases storytelling trick we haven't seen since season 3
Image
Chicago Fire is shaking things up on April 16. Not only is the series bringing back Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker), but it's employing storytelling techniques and trickery that we haven't seen in over a decade! "Post-Mortem" will revolve around a firefighting incident gone awry, and Boden comes back to his old stomping ground in an effort to determine what really happened.

It's a great premise for an episode, and one that the cast has already hyped up for its intensity, but we are more intrigued by the fact that "Post-Mortem" is going to employ flashbacks as Boden questions the firefighters involved in the aforementioned incident. Chicago Fire has been an aggressively linear show for the bulk of its time on the air. So linear, in fact, that the one time it used flashbacks was after the death of a beloved character.

Chicago Fire will bring back flashbacks Chicago Fire -- "A...

Chicago Fire deaths in order: Every major character who has died in the show
Image
Chicago Fire puts characters in danger on a weekly basis. We see firefighters and medics putting their lives on the line to protect others. Unfortunately, it doesn't always end well. There have been several deaths over the course of the show's 13 seasons. Some of which, we are still reeling from.

In an effort to celebrate, grieve, and simply remember the Chicago Fire characters who have fallen, we decided to compile a list of every major death that has occurred, from the pilot to the present. It gets a little bleak, but such are the risks of the job. Our one rule is that the character in question had to have worked as a firefighter/medic.

Chicago Fire: Every Character Who Has Died On The Show
Image
Content Warning: This article contains discussions/references to death and suicide.

Chicago Fire has seen several exits over its 12 seasons, and many of the brave firefighters of Firehouse 51 have died in the show. Although it's good to see Chicago Fire is still popular over a decade after it first premiered, that long-running success has come at a cost. While many characters have come and gone, some will not be able to have the opportunity to return, as they were permanently killed off the show. Some were even killed off at the height of their popularity, proving that no Chicago Fire character is safe.

For years, the firefighters and paramedics of Firehouse 51 have struggled to navigate through their grief while still serving the people of Chicago (with some never being able to recover from their loss). While certain characters might appear safe, and some have had the best character exits on TV that don't involve death,...

Shia Labeouf Entered a Contest for ‘Up-and-Coming’ Screenwriters – With a Film Now in Production
Shia LaBeouf
Shia Labeouf just might have a future as a screenwriter if he ever gets tired of acting: The “Transformers” star has made it to the quarterfinals of the Page International Screenwriting Awards, a contest for up-and-coming screenwriters.

Labeouf has a bragging point most of his fellow quarterfinalists don’t: His feature film script, “Honey Boy,” is in production at Automatik Entertainment, where Brian Kavanaugh-Jones is a producing partner. Lucas Hedges will star alongside Labeouf.

That might seem like a built-in advantage, but Page executive director Kristin Overn said the contest, which has attracted some big names in the past, is judged anonymously so that no one benefits or is unfairly judged for having a famous name.

Patchwork is a Vanity Project that Hits the Mark: A Film Review
*full disclosure: an online screener of this film was provided by the distributor, The Orchard. **there are a couple of minor spoilers here. Director: Tyler MacIntyre. Writers: Chris Lee Hill and Tyler MacIntyre. Cast: Tory Stolper, Tracey Fairaway, Maria Blasucci, James Phelps and Corey Sorenson. Patchwork has been completed since at least 2015. From director Tyler MacIntyre and writer Chris Lee Hill, the film has recently released through Video-on-demand, via The Orchard. A festival favourite, Patchwork involves a three-in-one deal, in which three women are sewn into one. The results should be horrifying, but they are more laugh worthy. Some of the awkward kissing scenes are laugh out loud funny. Meanwhile, a sub-villain and villain are pushing the action forward. One of the evil wretch's identity is only revealed near the end of the film. Also, the writers take the topic of cosmetic surgery to the point of hyperbole. What would...

MoreHorror.com

Patchwork is directed by Tyler MacIntyre. The film stars Tory Stolper, Tracey Fairaway, Maria Blasucci, with Corey Sorenson and James Phelps.

Mirrored is directed by Ryan Shovey and written and produced by Nicole Bird. The film stars Aaron Jay Rome, David Colan, and Bryan Mordechai Jackson

There are a lot of people within the horror community right now who grew up watching absolutely gonzo insane horror films like Re-animator, Evil Dead 2, and Frankenhooker, which actually came out in 1990 but whatever. These are wild, anarchic films that at the time formed a subversive little bubble trapped within the soup of 1980's normality. Now, decades later, as we find ourselves in a culture that has become homogenized in a way that we haven't seen since the 1980's, there is a lot of nostalgia for these kinds of films.

This nostalgia has led to a wave of 1980's throwback films,...

There's a shoot-out at a building where server info is stored, resulting in a power failure. So why's Tony (Michael Weatherly) playing with all the electrical equipment, not everything will work even with their generators. Palmer (Brian Dietzen) tells him Ducky (David McCallum) sent him up for a Sit Rep. Gibbs (Mark Harmon) will get angry if Ziva (Cote de Pablo) and McGee (Sean Murray) aren't at work. They happen to be stuck in the lift and Ziva breaks McGee's watch, cos he keeps looking at the time. There's a silver lining, according to her, they could be worse off and be stuck here with Tony. Oh no, then she'd have to mention his sweat again! Ha. Ziva comments Gibbs is feeling right at home, which he is, never was into all that techno stuff. Tony adds you don't need electricity to drink bourbon and use hand tools. McGee asks if Gibbs is behind Tony.
