The official website of Kaiju No. 8‘s anime adaptation revealed that the second season of the anime will start airing in Japan from July 19, 2025, on TV Tokyo and other networks at 11:00 p.m. Jst.

The official X account of Kaiju No. 8 unveiled a new character trailer for Reno Ichikawa for the anime’s upcoming compilation film on March 10, 2025.

The compilation film, featuring the events of season 1, is set to hit Japanese theatres on March 28, 2025, along with a special episode titled ‘Hoshina’s Day Off”.

Kaiju No. 8 season 1 aired from April 13 to June 29, 2024.

Tsukuda's new recommendation was shared by @WSJmanga, an unofficial Shonen Jump news hub on X (formerly Twitter). Shinobi Undercover, which was created by Ippon Takegushi (story) and Santa Mitarashi (art), revolves around a ninja named Todaka who lives and works in modern-day Japan. One day, he is ordered to protect a cheerful but klutzy high school student named Aoi. In order to be a proper guard, he masquerades as Aoi's fellow classmate. Hit Japanese anime series Kaiju No. 8 is getting a second season. Shortly after the credits rolled on the show’s season-one finale Saturday, global specialty streamer Crunchyroll revealed that work is already underway at the storied Japanese anime studio Production I.G for a follow-up story arc. Crunchyroll says it will stream the season two return of Kaiji No. 8 in over 200 countries, with the specific release plans to be revealed at a later date.

In Kaiju No. 8's previous episodes, the Sagamihara Neutralization Operation was supposed to be a textbook Defense Force mission. The ground units would lay down suppressive fire and Captain Mina Ashiro would bring out the big guns. Instead, it left officers Leno Ichikawa and Iharu Furuhashi mortally wounded and Kafka Hibino against his commanding officer, Vice Captain Hoshina. For better and worse, the latter doesn't know about Kafka's alter-ego. Previously, Episode 7 upped the anime's ante by showing the depths of Kaiju No. 9's villainy with a dangerous encounter. Luckily, Kafka arrived in time to save his friends from the jaws of death. But in doing so, Kafka is also risking not only his secret kaiju identity but his life as well in Episode 8.
