His father died at the age of 98, and his parents were married for 75 years.

The youngest of nine children in the family.

Father, with wife Sema Ergenekon, of two daughters, Asya Aslan (b. October 26, 2005) and Alya Aslan (b. January 2009), and one son, Sems Aslan (b. 2011).

In 1998, he met Sema Ergenekon while both were studying at the Ankara University, and they started dating shortly afterwards. On September 25, 2005, they got married after 7 years together.
