Walt Disney Animation Studios has unveiled the title and logline for its latest original film: “Hexed.”

Disney Animation’s chief creative officer, Jared Bush, revealed the project Saturday during Destination D23: A Journey Around the Worlds of Disney in Orlando, Fla.. Josie Trinidad (“Zootopia+”) and Jason Hand (“Moana 2”) are set to direct the film, while Roy Conli and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster-Jones will serve as producers.

Cal Kestis Makes the Jump to TV in Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past

Cal Kestis, the popular ginger character from the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor games, is finally going to appear outside of just the video games.

Cameron Monaghan will reprise his character in the animated Disney+ special Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past. This will be Cal’s first on-screen appearance outside of the Star Wars Jedi game series.

Genndy Tartakovsky is back with a brand-new animated feature film on Netflix, but it's not his normal affair. This time, it's an incredibly raunchy 2D animated comedy about the moment everyone's pets fear: getting fixed.

The story follows Adam Devine's Bull, who learns he's about to lose his balls, sending him spiraling. Joining Devine are Idris Elba (Rocco), Kathryn Hahn (Honey), Beck Bennett (Sterling), Bobby Moynihan (Lucky), and more. The Direct spoke with Fixed director and writer Genndy Tartakovsky in an interview, where he had lots to say about his new film.

Tartakovsky admitted that, as raunchy as his new animated Netflix film is, "A few things got cut out because they felt gratuitous.

The thing about puppies is, they start out all small and cute and oh-so-adorable. Look at their puppy paws, way too big for their itty-bitty widdle bodies! Genndy Tartakovsky’s R-rated animated comedy Fixed – about a dog on a mission to get his rocks off, before they are chopped off by the vet – hits Netflix this week after buzzy screenings at Annecy and Montreal’s Fantasia Festival over the summer.

Its arrival on the platform marks the end of a 16-year journey to get the movie over the line and connected to audiences for Tartakovsky, who is best known as the director of the first three movies in the Hotel Transylvania franchise as well as Adult Swim series such as Samurai Jack and Primal aimed at older audiences.

Genndy Tartakovsky has spent much of his career considering what’s appropriate for children, whether at Cartoon Network or at the helm of three Hotel Transylvania films. Now, with the R-rated Fixed, he’s off the leash, and using traditional animation rather than CGI. But even if Tartakovsky achieved a sense of catharsis from being able to animate a dog’s bouncing nutsack, it doesn’t translate to a fulfilling viewing experience.

That nutsack belongs to Bull (Adam DeVine), but not for long. His human owners have had enough of him humping everything from Grandma’s leg to the backyard garden hose, and now he’s set to be neutered. Bull, though, isn’t about to take this lying down—especially when it might ruin his chances with the show dog next door (Kathryn Hahn). So he breaks out of his backyard and sets out for a raucous night in the city,...

Not since Ralph Bakshi’s Fritz the Cat and its sequel have cartoon animals gotten so down and dirty as they do in the latest animated effort by director Genndy Tartakovsky. Depicting the travails of a dog facing the fate alluded to in the title, Fixed plays like a canine version of The 25th Hour, except that instead of going to prison the next day, the main character is about to be neutered.

Those who are easily offended may want to steer clear of this Netflix movie, co-scripted by Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack, Hotel Transylvania) with Jon Vitti (The Simpsons). As always, Big Brother fans can expect the unexpected. Netflix has just dropped a brand new look, a sneak peek trailer for Fixed, the upcoming adult animated comedy from Emmy-winning director Genndy Tartakovsky. The trailer gives a hilarious and unfiltered look at the group of dogs, led by Adam Devine’s Bull. Idris Elba voices Rocco, Bull’s tough but loyal friend.

In this trailer, the dogs are running at full speed, led by their humans, all heading urgently outside for their morning pee and poop ritual. What adds more laughs is their desperate and exaggerated words, “gotta go, gotta go” before they take care of their business.

Fixed premieres August 13, 2025, exclusively on Netflix, and boasts an all-star cast that includes Idris Elba, Adam Devine, and Kathryn Hahn. With vibrant 2D animation and a sharp adult edge, the movie marks Sony Pictures Animation’s first-ever R-rated feature.

We officially have the NBC Fall lineup, and it looks exactly as we would’ve expected.

Unfortunately, we’re still lamenting the loss of scripted TV with the acquisition of basketball, and the Fall slate certainly reflects that, as there is slim pickings outside of One Chicago, Law & Order, and Brilliant Minds.

But it’s still comforting to have stalwart franchises on their same nights. The familiarity of that breeds comfort.

Wednesdays and Thursdays are the juggernaut nights with a full slate of the two franchises. Because, yes, Law & Order: Organized Crime will accompany the other Law & Orders on Thursdays, airing the fifth season to those who may not have tuned in for it on Peacock.

Given that we still don’t have word on the series’ renewal, they’re hoping to build up a bigger audience by re-airing it on broadcast.

Toronto-based Sonar Network, an indie podcast company founded in 2017 by a group of local comedians, is releasing its most ambitious series to date: StanLand, a five-part scripted audio comedy featuring an A-list cast including Rhea Seehorn, Bobby Moynihan, Steve Little, Jon Hamm, and John Waters. Created and written by humorist Mike Sacks, StanLand follows a missing podcaster and a mediocre Maryland man who stumble into a once-magical kingdom now overrun by vape shops, dollar stores, and gated retirement communities. After 16 years of development limbo and multiple studio shakeups, Genndy Tartakovsky’s long-awaited animated movie, Fixed, will finally premiere on Netflix on August 13, 2025. The movie stars Adam Devine as a dog trying to enjoy one last wild night before getting neutered. Fixed was first pitched in 2009 but faced years of delays, partly due to studio hesitations over its adult content.

Originally pitched at Sony Pictures Animation, Tartakovsky’s project was shelved after new executives rejected the R-rated concept. Tartakovsky told The Hollywood Reporter,

New executives came in, and they’re like: Yeah, we don’t want to do this.’ Back then, in 2008/09, things were different. Nobody’s making R-rated films. This is pre-Sausage Party [ Seth Rogen’s raunchy animated hit from 2016], pre-all that stuff.

Fixed follows a horny mutt who discovers that his humans are going to take him to the vet in the morning to be neutered, causing him to go out on the town for one last night of debauchery before losing his manhood. The best way to describe this film is like The Hangover if it were made for Adult Swim, and it’s just as crazy as that sounds.

Disney and Pixar’s upcoming action-packed animated comedy ‘Hoppers’ unveiled a new teaser trailer this morning, introducing moviegoers to an animal lover named Mabel (voice of Piper Curda), who jumps at the opportunity—or hops to try new technology that allows her to communicate with animals in an exciting new way.

In the animation, scientists have discovered how to “hop” human consciousness into lifelike robotic animals, allowing people to communicate with animals as animals! Using the new technology, Mabel (Curda) will uncover mysteries within the animal world that are beyond anything she could have imagined.
