Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Amaleka learned early how to read a room, spot deception, and stay two steps ahead-skills that now give her storytelling an edge. She earned her bachelor's degree in criminal justice at St. John's University and a master's in public administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
With a 19-year career in federal law enforcement, Amaleka brings authenticity, grit, and adrenaline-fueled tension to her writing. In addition, she has ghostwritten over 50 novels, further sharpening her ability to craft intricate plots and layered characters.
Amaleka transitioned to television and film, co-writing eight episodes of Haus of Vicious and the TV movies Imani and Whatever It Takes. She is passionate about bringing fresh, authentic stories to television and film, drawing from her real-world experiences to create compelling narratives.
