Elsi Deyanira Contreras Industrius was born in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, second to last of five children. Her mother is Spanish mixed with African on her father's side, and her father is Spanish. Elsi has lived majority of her life between the Dominican Republic and British Virgin Islands. She was raised in the Dominican Republic until the age of five and her mother moved the family to the British Virgin Islands. Once she completed elementary school, her mother sent her to the Dominican Republic to complete her Secondary Education, and after she graduated she returned to the British Virgin Islands. Elsi believes this is the very reason she is fully fluent in Spanish and English.
Her dream of becoming an actress came when she had no other option but to move to British Columbia, Canada with her husband and daughter after losing everything in Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. She is actively working in the film industry and hopes to book roles in which she can share more of herself with the world.
