I’m So Thankful Naruto Didn’t Give Us That Cringe Avengers: Endgame ‘Girls Get It Done’ Scene in the Pain Arc
Image
We keep hearing how the original Naruto had such good arcs and whatnot. Well, Shippuden isn’t too far behind, and for me, the Pain Assault Arc is one such example of that. Be it fights, development, and stakes, it was all about the impact.

The build-up is what makes it so good. Up until now, we saw the knucklehead hone his strength, but the arc screamed showtime in every sense. It had some overwhelming moments that had us all glued to our chairs. However, there’s one thing I’m glad that the series didn’t follow.

To give context, this has something to do with the Avengers: Endgame‘s cringeworthy moment. The whole “girls get it done” was something the anime thwarted and I’m happy they didn’t follow in Marvel’s footsteps. Though the Arc highlighted the real Mvp who deserves all the praise. But who is it exactly?...

“It’s rooted in a rivalry similar to Naruto and Sasuke’s”: Fans Point Out 5 Times Masashi Kishimoto Created a Better Friendship Duo That He Conveniently Forgot
Image
Naruto does not solely consist of the struggles of the Shinobi livelihood and Naruto’s grand adventures. It also features some deep bonds of friendship between characters. While Sasuke and Naruto’s bond might be the first one to strike you, there are plenty of other underrated friendships that are enough to make fans go “awww”.

These underrated friendships can be found not only in heroic characters but also in villainous organizations. Some friendships even ascend the species gap.

Neji Hyuga and Rock Lee

Neji and Rock Lee both belong to Team Guy. Throughout their training, Guy encouraged Lee and Neji to be rivals, and they practiced their taijutsu against each other. Despite Neji winning constantly, he slowly grew fond of Lee. He even decided to skip a year before participating in the Chunin Exams since Lee was not fully ready to compete yet.

10 Best Naruto Characters, Ranked by Growth
Image
While world-building and a good story are essential in anime, character development is important too. Without growth, a character remains stagnant and one dimensional. Fleshing out characters is what makes them relatable and real to the audience. In the Shonen series, Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto pulls this off extremely well. Despite the many different individuals in the series, Kishimoto gives each one of them their own story and internal conflicts that they learn to overcome.

Naruto doesn't just focus on the main character, but gives side characters and even antagonists their own arcs as well. Furthermore, each character has both external and internal struggles to tackle, showing that they are just human at the end of the day. That being said, there are multiple individuals in the Naruto franchise who undergo a significant change.

“An incredibly sad fate, she was loyal to the very end”: We Will Never Forgive Naruto For Not Trying to Save Konan From a Depressing End
Image
While ranking the most gut-wrenching moments in the Naruto series, Konan’s death would surely come at a higher spot. Even years after the incident, fans are still not over the emotional blow of losing this beloved character.

As the only female member of the Akatsuki and a former comrade of Nagato, Konan’s depressing fate is deeply intertwined with the darker aspects of the ninja world.

Many fans still wonder why Naruto did not act to save Konan from her tragic outcome. Even though everyone else in the series forgot, fans would always remember Konan’s memory which showed us the unforgiving truth of the ninja world.

“He has bugs that drain Chakra and his body is a freaking hive”: Masashi Kishimoto Gave Broken Powers to a Friend of Naruto but Underutilized Him
Image
Masashi Kishimoto crafted many memorable characters with their unique motivations and goals in Naruto. Whether you like characters with a combination of cool and powerful like Kakashi or beauty and brute like Tsunade, Naruto has them all. However, some of these characters never reached their true peak or potential. This is simply because the cast of the series was full of talented yet underdeveloped shinobi.

Shino Aburame in a still from Naruto Shippuden | Credits: Studio Pierrot Co. Ltd.

There are numerous examples of such characters, from Rock Lee to Yamanaka Ino, but the most underrated of them all is undoubtedly Shino Aburame. Even in the original series, when the young genins had their moments to shine during the Sasuke rescue mission, Shino was pushed to the sidelines. And that’s a shame because many of his abilities were overpowered, capable of leaving the strongest shinobi defenseless, but we never got to see any of that.

Only 4 Out of the 7 Hokage Can Survive a Devastating A-Rank Jutsu Masashi Kishimoto Just Used Once in Naruto and Then Completely Forgot
Image
The fights in Naruto are the perfect fix for some thrill, as the exciting back and forth between characters throughout the series account for some great moments. Masashi Kishimoto crafted complex strategies and techniques, making the fights more tactical compared to a typical showdown of astronomical power-ups.

This doesn’t mean that there weren’t any overpowered abilities at all. There were some techniques that were so devastating that Kishimoto didn’t use them more than once, like Konan’s Paper Person of God Technique. She used it against Tobi and nearly killed him. While we didn’t get another fight that made use of that technique, its menace was properly established with only a few panels.

And one thing is clear: there are only a few characters who can escape Konan’s...

‘Kishimoto definitely wasted the character’: The Only Character Who Deserved to Mentor Naruto After Jiraiya’s Death Was Killed Too Soon to Favor Itachi
Image
Masashi Kishimoto created many compelling characters in Naruto, leaving fans wanting more. However, it’s a shame that the ‘more’ they are so intrigued about hardly gets explored. Konan is the best example of this, as she was a great character who was killed off too soon. She deserved more screen time, and there were many instances where her contribution to the story would have made more sense than some other characters, for instance, Itachi.

Konan in Naruto Shippuden | Credits: Studio Pierrot Co. Ltd.

It’s a common belief among Naruto fans that Kishimoto has a special preference for Itachi. There was one moment that could have benefited more from Konan’s presence compared to Itachi. But, as you must have guessed, she was already dead by that point and Itachi was there instead. It’s a pity that Konan was sidelined for Itachi when both characters could have coexisted with ease.

Paranormal Activity Movies In Order: How (& Where) To Watch By Release Date & Chronologically
Image
While the franchise consists of seven movies, the Paranormal Activity movies in order is different chronologically than it is by release date. The main thread of the found-footage franchise follows the sinister demon "Tobi" as he terrorizes families and households throughout the decades. The complex lore of the Paranormal Activity movies begins with the original 2007 film that introduces Tobi and his primary anchor for most of the series, Katie. As the films continue, the expanding backstory and interweaving network of characters gradually reveal a rich, detailed universe of supernatural horror.

The franchise includes backstories, time travel, recurring characters, and connections to Tobi and Katie. With such an intricate chronology, the question of where to start with the Paranormal Activity movies can seem daunting. Two franchise installments are prequels, and two interact directly with Katie's past. There is also an unofficial non-canon Japanese sequel, Paranormal Activity 2: Tokyo Night, but that...

Sasuke Would’ve Never Won If Masashi Kishimoto Hadn’t Given Danzo a Horrible Handicap That Took Away His Most Powerful Ability

Masashi Kishimoto is an expert at fight scenes, which is proved by so many legendary Naruto battles. But there have been times when he has nerfed characters just to get them out of the way. Unfortunately, the Sasuke Vs. Danzo’s fight felt the same way.

The 20 Best Obito Uchiha Quotes in Naruto, Ranked
Image
The statements Masashi Kishimoto attached to Naruto's characters continue to resonate among fans, cementing Naruto as a timeless shōnen series. Top 10 Anime Series Better Than Bleach
Image
The smash-hit shonen anime Bleach has earned its place in the shonen "big three" thanks to its outsized influence in the shonen demographic and its robus manga volume sales. On the plus side, the Bleach anime features truly memorable character designs, legendary plot twists, and a cool blend of isekai and reverse-isekai with conventional shonen action. The new Bleach anime is even better, though in the long run, this anime still has some issues. For all its strengths, Bleach still has weaknesses like excessive filler, repetitive story beats, and worst of all, countless contrivances.

While Bleach's positives outweigh the negatives, the fact remains that this anime is rather bloated and has aged awkwardly in some ways, while newer anime series are leaner, meaner versions of what Bleach tried to do. Pound for pound, these anime series beat Bleach at its own game, and they offer some truly stunning ideas...

“Why does Obito get the pass… Yet Itachi is hated”: The Greatest Hypocrisy in Naruto is Masashi Kishimoto Fanatics Defending the Wrong Uchiha
Image
While bias and favoritism are common, fans can go overboard in their opinion. Naruto is no exception to this, especially with Obito and Itachi. Both are well-written and fleshed-out characters in Kishimoto’s series.

As members of the strongest clans in Konoha, they possessed chakra and visual prowess. Unfortunately, both shared the same fate. But there’s a catch to that as well.

While both Uchiha underwent their trials and tribulations, most fanatics overlook this aspect. Their bias had several points to a major divide within the community. This, however, also highlights the scapegoat symbolism in Kishimoto’s series.

Naruto fanatics and their bias toward Obito

Of all the toxic fandoms and communities, Naruto gained its notoriety for several reasons. Several fanatics continue to tarnish the community’s reputation. Time and time again, as anime grows in popularity and fanbase, so does the hate.

The Most Iconic Naruto Weapons of All Time, Ranked
Image
Ninjutsu dominates the combat system in the Naruto anime, such as Naruto Uzumaki's Rasengan and the incredible powers of the Mangekyo Sharingan, but there is still room for martial arts/taijutsu and physical weapons in this shonen ninja world, too. No matter how fanciful the jutsu, the Naruto anime needs the basics to keep things grounded and add some variety to a combat system where more chakra means bigger results. That's why the anime features some stylish and deadly weapons to give shinobi more options in battle.

This has been true since the beginning, when the combat system was more modest and physical weapons like swords and shuriken were common, and the anime even included some cool weapons later in Naruto Shippuden as well. No matter how big and flashy the jutsu became, weapons remained an important part of any ninja's playbook, with ten particular weapons being emblematic of...

The Full Timeline Of The Paranormal Activity Movies Explained
Image
Oren Pelis supernatural found-footage horror film Paranormal Activity spawned a franchise that included seven movies, so the Paranormal Activity timeline needs some explaining. The films follow the history of two sisters named Katie and Kristi who are tormented by a demonic entity, "Toby." As the franchise expanded with sequels, prequels, and parallel installments, the exact timeline of events remains complicated. The franchise shares a basic premise: supernatural occurrences that are caught "found-footage" such as security systems, webcams, and more.

The 2021 installment Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin was a soft reboot since it is the first installment in the franchise to feature a new demonic entity: Asmodeus, based on the real-life Abrahamic dogma. The next title in the franchise, The Other Side, returned to Paranormal Activity's core story, centering on "Toby" once again and continuing the story from where Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension left off. The installments aren't released chronologically,...

How To Watch The Paranormal Activity Movies In Order
Image
This post contains spoilers for the "Paranormal Activity" franchise.

When "Paranormal Activity" was first released in 2007, it was a small-scale, indie found-footage endeavor spearheaded by Oren Peli, shot with an initial budget of around $15,000. After the feature made some waves and was acquired by Paramount, the trajectory of this horror offering, which was initially meant as a standalone entry, changed forever. Now armed with a new alternate ending, "Paranormal Activity" had an unbelievably lucrative run at the box office, and this overwhelming success went on to spawn a highly profitable franchise with stories that sported interconnected timelines and a shared found footage convention. Although the first few entries feel fresh and effective, a case of franchise fatigue can be felt over time, especially with the most recent soft reboot, "Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin."

It is perfectly okay to watch the "Paranormal Activity" films (check out our ranking of them here) according to release order,...

Fly By Night by Tara O’Connor

Do you ever find yourself complaining about the genre premises of a work? It’s not helpful, I can tell you. And it can waste a bunch of mental energy while reading until you realize that’s what you’re doing.

For example, in a graphic novel mostly aimed at teen readers, with a mostly teen cast and a thriller/mystery plot, the reader needs to remember that the characters have to solve the dangerous problem themselves. Sure, they might be in the New Jersey Pine Barrens, a preserve of ecological interest to at least a national if not international audience. And they might also be right in between two massive media markets full of reporters who would be happy to make a lot of noise about this particular issue. But adults sweeping in – even if the teens strategize and find those adults – is not what this kind of story is about.

Image
Naruto has always been a relatively straightforward series. When Naruto does have plot twists, they're always shocking because of their rarity. Naruto: Did Kishimoto Conveniently Forget the Most Glaring Plot Hole to Make the Uchihas Better Than the Hyuga Clan?
Image
It would not be a complete lie to say that Masashi Kishimoto had a special place for the Uchihas in his heart. Some of the most well-written and interesting characters in the Naruto series were Uchiha. This special focus on their clan sidelined another important clan with similar powers. The Hyuga Clan was introduced as an extremely powerful clan with the Byakugan.

Opposed to the Sharigan and Rinnegan, both of which had several deadly attacks, Kishimoto barely scratched the surface of what the Byakugan had to offer. While there are many problems one could state the underwhelming exploration of the Byakugan, one plot hole sums up the entire problem about the inferiority of Byakugan compared to the other Doujutsu shown in the series.

Naruto Theory Reveals Why Out of All the Uchiha, Obito Got the Most Broken Sharingan Ability Despite Being a “F**king failure of epic proportions”
Image
Obito Uchiha, better known as Tobi, is one of the most interesting Naruto characters. Masashi Kishimoto did not fail to give him a goosebumps-inducing tragic background, and fans could not believe the things Obito had to suffer.

The Uchiha was introduced as an antagonist, and slowly it was revealed that he helped Itachi massacre the entire Uchiha clan. However, the motivation behind his actions as well as his incredible strength, made fans wonder about him.

Is Obito a Weak Character in Naruto? Obito Uchiha | Credits: Studio Pierrot

After the massacre of the Uchiha Clan, as well as the other atrocities committed by him, one would expect Obito to excel at all forms of jutsu. However, the reality is quite different. Unlike his kin like Sasuke, Shishui, or Itachi, Obito virtually never used genjutsu in battle.

Rather, Obito relies on a more direct approach, and he anticipates and calculates the attacks of his opponents.
