We keep hearing how the original Naruto had such good arcs and whatnot. Well, Shippuden isn’t too far behind, and for me, the Pain Assault Arc is one such example of that. Be it fights, development, and stakes, it was all about the impact.

The build-up is what makes it so good. Up until now, we saw the knucklehead hone his strength, but the arc screamed showtime in every sense. It had some overwhelming moments that had us all glued to our chairs. However, there’s one thing I’m glad that the series didn’t follow.

To give context, this has something to do with the Avengers: Endgame‘s cringeworthy moment. The whole “girls get it done” was something the anime thwarted and I’m happy they didn’t follow in Marvel’s footsteps. Though the Arc highlighted the real Mvp who deserves all the praise. But who is it exactly?...

As the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga continues, Konoha's shinobi are desperate to conjure up effective strategies against the sentient God Trees. Shikamaru wants his soldiers to pretend to be their friends in Sunagakure. Once that's done, he hopes they can kill Ryū and Matsuri come Two Blue Bortex #18.

More so, he wants the Konoha-nin to take their essence: the Thorn Soul Bulbs. Ryū's will allow them to free Gaara and Shinki of the Sand, while Matsuri's will liberate Moegi. The problem is, these Ōtsutsuki off-shots are very terrifying and insightful. One big error leads to Ryū flexing his power, and make no mistake, there will be instant ramficiations in the dusty terrain.

Naruto does not solely consist of the struggles of the Shinobi livelihood and Naruto’s grand adventures. It also features some deep bonds of friendship between characters. While Sasuke and Naruto’s bond might be the first one to strike you, there are plenty of other underrated friendships that are enough to make fans go “awww”.

These underrated friendships can be found not only in heroic characters but also in villainous organizations. Some friendships even ascend the species gap.

Neji and Rock Lee both belong to Team Guy. Throughout their training, Guy encouraged Lee and Neji to be rivals, and they practiced their taijutsu against each other. Despite Neji winning constantly, he slowly grew fond of Lee. He even decided to skip a year before participating in the Chunin Exams since Lee was not fully ready to compete yet.

While world-building and a good story are essential in anime, character development is important too. Without growth, a character remains stagnant and one dimensional. Fleshing out characters is what makes them relatable and real to the audience. In the Shonen series, Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto pulls this off extremely well. Despite the many different individuals in the series, Kishimoto gives each one of them their own story and internal conflicts that they learn to overcome.

Naruto doesn't just focus on the main character, but gives side characters and even antagonists their own arcs as well. Furthermore, each character has both external and internal struggles to tackle, showing that they are just human at the end of the day. That being said, there are multiple individuals in the Naruto franchise who undergo a significant change.

While ranking the most gut-wrenching moments in the Naruto series, Konan’s death would surely come at a higher spot. Even years after the incident, fans are still not over the emotional blow of losing this beloved character.

Masashi Kishimoto crafted many memorable characters with their unique motivations and goals in Naruto. Whether you like characters with a combination of cool and powerful like Kakashi or beauty and brute like Tsunade, Naruto has them all. However, some of these characters never reached their true peak or potential. This is simply because the cast of the series was full of talented yet underdeveloped shinobi.

There are numerous examples of such characters, from Rock Lee to Yamanaka Ino, but the most underrated of them all is undoubtedly Shino Aburame. Even in the original series, when the young genins had their moments to shine during the Sasuke rescue mission, Shino was pushed to the sidelines. And that’s a shame because many of his abilities were overpowered, capable of leaving the strongest shinobi defenseless, but we never got to see any of that.

The fights in Naruto are the perfect fix for some thrill, as the exciting back and forth between characters throughout the series account for some great moments. Masashi Kishimoto crafted complex strategies and techniques, making the fights more tactical compared to a typical showdown of astronomical power-ups.

This doesn’t mean that there weren’t any overpowered abilities at all. There were some techniques that were so devastating that Kishimoto didn’t use them more than once, like Konan’s Paper Person of God Technique. She used it against Tobi and nearly killed him. While we didn’t get another fight that made use of that technique, its menace was properly established with only a few panels.

Masashi Kishimoto created many compelling characters in Naruto, leaving fans wanting more. However, it’s a shame that the ‘more’ they are so intrigued about hardly gets explored. Konan is the best example of this, as she was a great character who was killed off too soon. It’s a common belief among Naruto fans that Kishimoto has a special preference for Itachi. There was one moment that could have benefited more from Konan’s presence compared to Itachi. But, as you must have guessed, she was already dead by that point and Itachi was there instead. It’s a pity that Konan was sidelined for Itachi when both characters could have coexisted with ease.

Throughout the Naruto series, there are great fights that take place. However, Naruto Shippuden takes the choreography to a whole other level. Between the animation, movements and timing, the fights are eye-catching and impactful. The enhanced visual progression due to it being a more technologically advanced series than its predecessor only added to the awe.

The smash-hit shonen anime Bleach has earned its place in the shonen "big three" thanks to its outsized influence in the shonen demographic and its robus manga volume sales. On the plus side, the Bleach anime features truly memorable character designs, legendary plot twists, and a cool blend of isekai and reverse-isekai with conventional shonen action. The new Bleach anime is even better, though in the long run, this anime still has some issues. For all its strengths, Bleach still has weaknesses like excessive filler, repetitive story beats, and worst of all, countless contrivances.

When "Paranormal Activity" was first released in 2007, it was a small-scale, indie found-footage endeavor spearheaded by Oren Peli, shot with an initial budget of around $15,000. After the feature made some waves and was acquired by Paramount, the trajectory of this horror offering, which was initially meant as a standalone entry, changed forever. Now armed with a new alternate ending, "Paranormal Activity" had an unbelievably lucrative run at the box office, and this overwhelming success went on to spawn a highly profitable franchise with stories that sported interconnected timelines and a shared found footage convention. Although the first few entries feel fresh and effective, a case of franchise fatigue can be felt over time, especially with the most recent soft reboot, "Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin."

Do you ever find yourself complaining about the genre premises of a work? It’s not helpful, I can tell you. And it can waste a bunch of mental energy while reading until you realize that’s what you’re doing.

For example, in a graphic novel mostly aimed at teen readers, with a mostly teen cast and a thriller/mystery plot, the reader needs to remember that the characters have to solve the dangerous problem themselves. Sure, they might be in the New Jersey Pine Barrens, a preserve of ecological interest to at least a national if not international audience. And they might also be right in between two massive media markets full of reporters who would be happy to make a lot of noise about this particular issue. But adults sweeping in – even if the teens strategize and find those adults – is not what this kind of story is about.

Naruto has always been a relatively straightforward series. It's centered on the titular Naruto as he looks to learn new abilities, make friends, and one day, become the best Hokage Konoha has ever seen. When Naruto does have plot twists, they're always shocking because of their rarity. Some of the best moments in the franchise are completely unexpected, turning the entire series on its head in a single episode.

The best plot twists can't be predicated. They come from out of nowhere, but looking back, there could be some signs. Whether Naruto is finding out who his parents really are, how Kakashi got his Sharingan, or who the Masked Man really is, each is a plot twist that will leave fans speechless. They're all moments that define Naruto as a series, adding a layer of seriousness that keeps the show grounded.

It would not be a complete lie to say that Masashi Kishimoto had a special place for the Uchihas in his heart. Some of the most well-written and interesting characters in the Naruto series were Uchiha. This special focus on their clan sidelined another important clan with similar powers. The Hyuga Clan was introduced as an extremely powerful clan with the Byakugan.

Opposed to the Sharigan and Rinnegan, both of which had several deadly attacks, Kishimoto barely scratched the surface of what the Byakugan had to offer. While there are many problems one could state the underwhelming exploration of the Byakugan, one plot hole sums up the entire problem about the inferiority of Byakugan compared to the other Doujutsu shown in the series.

Obito Uchiha, better known as Tobi, is one of the most interesting Naruto characters. Masashi Kishimoto did not fail to give him a goosebumps-inducing tragic background, and fans could not believe the things Obito had to suffer.

The Uchiha was introduced as an antagonist, and slowly it was revealed that he helped Itachi massacre the entire Uchiha clan. However, the motivation behind his actions as well as his incredible strength, made fans wonder about him.

After the massacre of the Uchiha Clan, as well as the other atrocities committed by him, one would expect Obito to excel at all forms of jutsu. However, the reality is quite different. Unlike his kin like Sasuke, Shishui, or Itachi, Obito virtually never used genjutsu in battle.

Rather, Obito relies on a more direct approach, and he anticipates and calculates the attacks of his opponents.
