We have officially passed the halfway point of the year, and while some super popular Netflix shows have already been released, the best and biggest are still yet to come. The summer has been heated up by the likes of Squid Game, The Waterfront, and Untamed, but a certain someone we all know and love is about to make sure we're not having too much fun in August 2025.
After almost three years since its massive debut, Wednesday returns with its highly anticipated second season. Wednesday Addams will put a screeching halt to all of our summer fun. Well, she'll at least try because we're going to have a blast with these new episodes, but we can't make any guarantees that we will be all dark and gloomy just like she is!

Raphael Bob-Waksberg has a new, dysfunctional family to introduce with the first teaser for his upcoming animated series Long Story Short. Set to premiere on August 22, the show is the latest passion project from the BoJack Horseman creator, following the lives of the three Schwooper siblings as they grow up, navigate their troubles together, and unpack their generational trauma. Viewers will watch them from childhood to adulthood, but as the footage shows, age doesn't necessarily make them any more mature. From family car trips to dinners and other little moments with each other, the ten-episode run promises to pack their lives with the signature blend of comedy and grounded drama that Bob-Waksberg is known for.
The teaser flashes between the Schwoopers as kids and adults, albeit all within the same confined space of the back of the family car. They get into the typical sibling bickering about taking up too...

Raphael Bob-Waksberg more or less reinvented adult animation when he created "BoJack Horseman." Sure, much like another adult animated show that debuted around the same time, "Rick and Morty," "BoJack" dabbled in absurdism and experimentation. But the thing that made Bob-Waksberg and Netflix's groundbreaking cartoon about a talking horse unique was the way it tackled drama. Where "Rick and Morty" would go on to influence a decade of irreverent comedy, nihilism and parody in animation, "BoJack Horseman" was a mature, nuanced dramedy that featured complex characters and difficult subject matter. On top of all that, it was a biting satire of the entertainment industry driven by an antihero protagonist as compelling as Walter White or Tony Soprano.
Thanks to its success, "BoJack Horseman" also wound up paving the way for more dramatic American adult animated shows -- a format that had previously been synonymous with "The Simpsons" and similar sitcoms for decades.

Raphael Bob-Waksberg, the man broadly credited with reinventing animation with his 6-season, three-time Emmy-nominated Netflix hit Bojack Horseman, is back with more family trauma, but no taking animals, in Long Story Short.
The new Netflix animated series, which Bob-Waksberg premiered at the Annecy international animation film festival on Thursday, follows the trials and tribulations, or as Bob-Waksberg puts it, the “small t traumas,” of the Schwoopers, a fairly ordinary Jewish family.
“On one hand, it is an animated family comedy like Bob’s Burgers or King of the Hill, that kind of show, we have two parents, three kids,” he said, speaking at Annecy ahead of the series’ world premiere. “But the way we’re telling stories is a little different, in that we’re traveling back and forth through time. Not by using a time machine, just in the way we’re telling stories. So in the first episode, we...

“Long Story Short” cuts to the point. Coming from “BoJack Horseman” creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg, it’s without the parody dressing “BoJack Horseman” presents, instead getting closer to the heart of human conflict and comedy.
Screening at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival this week, the first episode of the “BoJack” creator’s latest animated Netflix series sees Avi (Ben Feldman) bring his new girlfriend Jennifer (Abbi Jacobson) to meet his family ahead of his little brother Yoshi’s (Max Greenfield) Bat Mitzvah. It drowns you in overlapping dialogue, religious anxiety, and eccentric family members, immediately distancing itself from Waksberg’s past work. The series then follows the Jewish family through the years, their hopes, and disappointments.
“I was thinking about family, time, and identity,” Waksberg told IndieWire at Annecy. “In the writers room, I wrote those up on a board, like this is what the show is about. More specifically,...

Exclusive: As Bono premieres his Andrew Dominik-directed Apple docu Bono: Stories of Surrender on Friday, Deadline can reveal he’s not the only rock icon making noise at the Cannes Film Festival. Also present on the Croisette in an underground capacity is Red Hot Chili Peppers. A documentary on the band’s formative years is being quietly shopped, with secret screenings by Submarine Entertainment.
The fact that the surviving members of the band participated on camera in this documentary is surprising, since they’ve turned down many offers in the past. That might be because of the shrapnel and deaths from drug use. That dark side of the music business is part of their overall tapestry to go along with 120 million albums sold worldwide and membership in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
More refreshing is the moment they transformed from L.A. misfits to genre-defying music pioneers,...

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers for the season finale of “Ghosts,” which aired Thursday night on CBS.
Oh hell no. “Ghosts” just ended its fourth season with a hell of a cliffhanger: Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) has signed a new publicist to help drum up interest in his restaurant — and it appears to be working! But there’s a catch: That contract he signed wasn’t actually to hire a P.R. team. It was to sell his soul to the devil, and that’s not a publicist — that’s Elias Woodstone (Matt Walsh), who can now make physical appearances on earth as the devil’s emissary.
And here’s one more catch: The devil doesn’t want to wait for Jay’s soul. So Elias will now try to bring about Jay’s death, sooner rather than later.
This all went down at the end of the Season 4 finale,...

Superstore alum Ben Feldman made quite the entrance at Woodstone in the May 1 episode of Ghosts, and who would blame fans for wanting more of his “handsome living” character despite the drama? In April, Feldman was cast as Kyle (also named after yesterday's episode), who just so happens to share Sam’s (Rose McIver) ability as a living person who can see ghosts. Feldman was only confirmed as a guest star in the “Kyle” episode; however, he recently spoke with TV Insider about the chances of his character returning in the show's future.
In the latest Ghosts episode, Sam immediately connected with Kyle, which is no surprise given their shared ability, not to mention he could relate to her having to put up with the Woodstone spirits. The new character also happened to have had more of a romantic connection with McIver’s character, which was clearly one-sided, as Sam will forever love her husband,...

GhostsSeason 4 is soon to be "sucked off" into the sky as the final episode edges nearer. What has been perhaps the best season of the US remake of the UK series yet, Season 4, has produced endless laughs and a neat touch of heartwarming emotion as it ebbed and flowed between the stories of the titular spirits and Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar)'s life in Woodstone B&b. Now, following the most recent penultimate Episode 21, "Kyle," in which Superstore alum Ben Feldman made his debut, the official promo for the finale has been released and is available to watch below.
Richie Moriarty's Pete opens the promo by saying, "It's going to be fun, and who doesn't like fun," with his sentiment acknowledged by a smiling and nodding Thor's (Devan Chandler). However, Jay's reveal of deviled eggs as part of the buffet for Sam and Isaac's...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Ghosts Season 4, Episode 21 “Kyle.”] Ghosts welcomed a new living with the power to see Woodstone’s spirits, as Superstore alum Ben Feldman dropped by to guest star as the new character Kyle. Introduced in a moment outside of the mansion, Kyle met wandering arrow-skewered Pete (Richie Moriarty) while he collected food at a diner counter. Prompted by Pete to pay Woodstone a visit, Kyle stopped into the B&b and surprised Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) with his supernatural ability. Sam immediately connected with Kyle due to the fact that he related to her own experience of having to put up with the spirits constantly around her. It turned out that Kyle had gotten his ability after he was “Fabio’d,” a.k.a. hit in the face with a large bird while he rode a rollercoaster. Meanwhile, Jay was threatened by this newcomer’s arrival, as he...

Mom and Dad are fighting. It’s not often that we see discord between Sam and Jay on Ghosts, but this Thursday’s episode reminds us that although they’re couple goals, Sam and Jay also have arguments just like any other married pair, much as we dislike it.
The cause of the marital tension is Kyle (guest star Ben Feldman, Superstore), who can see and talk to spirits like Sam after a giant bird hit him in the face on a rollercoaster. Pete happens upon Kyle while exploring a Montreal diner and brings him back to Woodstone B&b,...

Ghosts Season 4 has been another superbly successful outing for the spirits of Woodstone Mansion, pulling in millions of viewers week by week for laugh-a-minute, heartfelt fun. Following last night's antics, which included Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar)hosting a fundraiser and learning deeper revelations about the titular Ghosts, attention immediately turns to next week's penultimate outing, which promises the arrival of the hotly anticipated Ben Feldman, with the Superstore alum set to make his debut as the episode's titular "Kyle."

Among all the characters that have appeared in Ghosts ever since the first season, protagonist Sam (Rose McIver) was the only one to have the ability to see and talk to spirits from the start. As Season 4 of the CBS hit comedy series rolls out its final batch of episodes, though, we will learn that she will no longer feel so alone: she will meet Kyle (Ben Feldman), a man who also has been dealing with the gift (and trauma) of seeing ghosts for a long time. He will enter the hall of Woodstone Mansion on the May 1 episode.
As TV Line reveals, Feldman will be introduced in the penultimate episode of the current season and his arrival might mean trouble for Sam and Jay's (Utkarsh Ambudkar) marriage. Not only because of his looks, but also because Kyle will be able to relate to a lot of Sam's experiences in ways that Jay can't.

Firehouse 51 is losing a couple of key crew members: Chicago Fire cast members Daniel Kyri and Jake Lockett are leaving the NBC drama at season’s end and won’t return if the show is renewed for a 14th season, our sister site Deadline reports.
The report says the cast exits are “part of an effort to trim the budget” of the long-running drama and come “amid rumblings about cuts across Wolf Entertainment’s NBC series.” It’s possible Fire’s remaining cast members will see another reduction in the number of episodes they appear in each season, following a similar reduction two years ago.
