Ahmed started his filmmaking journey as an assistant director on "Clash" which played in Un certain Regard at Cannes. He then co-founded a film school called Cima. Ahmed also wrote the story for "Hajjan," the Saudi feature film that screened at Toronto and Red Sea Film Festivals. Also co wrote an Egyptian upcoming film "Bershama" directed by Khaled Diab.
Ahmed worked for three years as a script developer and a development producer with Mohamed Hefzy's Film Clinic and he now works as a freelance developer and script doctor along with his writing projects. Ahmed just completed shooting his first short film "Qafla/Blackout" as a director. The film is being distributed by Hefzy through Film Clinic and represented in sales and global distribution by Manifest Pictures. It will have its world premiere in the official international competition of the 55th edition of the Tampere Film Festival.
