He acted in Jean-Jacques Bernard's play, "Invitation of A Voyage," at the Gate Theatre Studio in London, England with Vivienne Bennett, Andrew Cruickshank, Walter Fitzgerald, and Margaret Fry in the cast.
Home Guard Volunteer Robin 'Donovan' Maule was only 17 years old when he died. Although underage he had been allowed to join the local Home Guard and was made Battalion Despatch Rider. It was whilst performing duties in December 1941 that he had a serious crash and he died, three months later, from the injuries he sustained.
