Hopkins made his film debut in that role in O Leão no Inverno (1968), while Huston played the part in Robin Hood (2010). They have also both played members of the Adams political clan: Huston played Samuel Adams in John Adams (2008), while Hopkins played his cousin John Quincy Adams in Amistad (1997).

In 1943, his grandfather Walter Huston starred in a film called Revolta! (1943). In 2009, he starred in a film with the same name O Fim da Escuridão (2010), based on the British mini-series.
