Cousin of TV host/singer Merv Griffin.

Played a cop on Chumbo Grosso (1981), then went on to direct episodes of cop shows Nova Iorque Contra o Crime (1993) and Parceiros da Vida (1999).

Is a Vietnam veteran who served in the Navy and he engaged in covert submarine operations off the coast of Thailand.

Best known for his hot-under-the-collar cop, Officer Andy Renko, on the hit '80s series Chumbo Grosso (1981), he later concentrated on TV directing and producing, winning the Director's Guild Award for his work on another hit series, Plantão Médico (1994).
