- Prolific, versatile and immensely likeable actress, the daughter of a textile merchant. On stage from 1914 and long-standing ensemble member of the Preußische Staatstheater, Berlin. She acted in more then 200 films well into her late 80's, beginning with leading roles in silent pictures to gentle, humorous or maternal character parts in post-war German cinema and television.
