The Pitt is absolutely dominating the conversation when it comes to medical dramas. The subgenre has been a staple on television for decades, but there's something about the particular make up of this show that has audiences captivated.

There's the writing, of course, and the real time structure of the show, but a lot of the appeal of The Pitt has to come down to its cast. It boasts a massive, talented ensemble. And since we love our One Chicago stars on this site, we decided to come through The Pitt and point out which actors got their start on the NBC franchise before shifting over to HBO.

The Pitt. She has proven to be a vital member of the cast during its first season, but years prior, she got the chance to shine in a Chicago Med episode.

The Pitt Season 1, Episode 8, "2:00 P.M." cements the series' status as one of the most difficult TV shows to watch. The Max medical drama is finally able to conclude a heartbreaking storyline that has gone on since Episode 2 -- but there's no rest for the weary, neither the doctors nor the audience. The next big plotline is even more devastating, and begs the question of how much more viewers can take.

"2:00 P.M." isn't totally depressing, as it also contains an important lesson on Pittsburgh history that should hopefully prompt fans to learn more about a very special group of people. But the program continues to challenge the audience with stories about a tragic accident involving a child, possible human trafficking, and a finger amputation. Arranca el rodaje de La cena, una comedia dirigida por Manuel Gómez Pereira (Entre las piernas) y con guion de Joaquín Oristrell (El campeón), Yolanda García Serrano (Hit) y el mismo Gómez Pereira, que se desarrollará en Valencia, Madrid y Gran Canaria.

La cena nos sitúa en el 15 de abril de 1939, apenas dos semanas después del fin de la Guerra Civil Española. Con la victoria franquista consumada, el dictador decide celebrar el triunfo con una cena en el Hotel Palace, acompañado de sus generales. Lo que no saben, es que la cena la prepararán unos cocineros republicanos que están ante su última oportunidad de huir del país.

The Pitt Season 1, Episode 6, "12:00 P.M." finally gets around to one of the most common topics in TV medical dramas. The next third of the Max show doesn't feel cliche because this is also one of the most important subjects in the actual health care industry. But because it's such a familiar problem, the episode winds up feeling pretty familiar, too.

"12:00 P.M." tackles the inner workings of the hospital, or at least tries to, as star and executive producer Noah Wyle once again becomes the center of the series. There's little resolution to most of the existing storylines,...

Sony Pictures ha compartido el primer tráiler de la película Un funeral de locos, una disparatada comedia dirigida por Manuel Gómez Pereira (Cuéntame cómo pasó), con guion de Yolanda García Serrano (Hit).

En Un funeral de locos, los miembros de una familia acuden a despedir al patriarca recientemente fallecido. Pero lo que debería ser un sentido velatorio se convierte en una reunión enloquecida cuando uno de los asistentes saca a la luz el secreto mejor guardado del difunto. In a milestone move, Sony Pictures Television has unveiled “La Academia,” its first Spanish-language scripted series filmed in Spain for Prime Video and 3Cat.

“La Academia” is produced for Sony by Brutal Media, commissioned out of Sony Pictures Television’s international production group. Spt is distributing the series worldwide.

A scripted young adult drama series which Spt describes as being set in the high-pressure, high-drama world of elite youth soccer and its rising stars, ‘La Academia’ takes place at the Spanish training centre of the Apolo F.C., one of the best professional soccer clubs in the world.

There boys and girls from different social backgrounds fight for a shared dream which will inevitably create fiction between them: to make the first team and become the world’s next top players.

The film, made by Warner Bros. Spain, has the look and feel of a glossy Hollywood flick — or of a non-English-language film begging for an American remake. But cheesy commercialism and sentimentality aside, Reinas boasts a couple of first-rate performances — Forqué as a nymphomaniac, Blum as a sweet-as-overripe-apple-pie Mom — and delivers more than a few good laughs. Additionally, the climactic big-wedding finale is quite touching.

Writing team and real-life couple David A. Lee and Daniel Vaillancourt have optioned the rights to the English-language remake of "Queens" from Warner Bros./Spain.

The story line in the 2005 Spanish-language feature known as "Reinas" in Europe revolves around five mothers who prepare for Spain's first legal mass wedding for same-sex couples. Manuel Gomez Pereira directed and Joaquin Oristrell and Yolanda Garcia Serrano wrote the original comedy.

Lee said the two had wanted to write the American version of "Queens" since viewing it at 2006 Outfest in Los Anegles. Vaillancourt said he expects the script to offer five substantial roles for older actresses.

"We think it's an ensemble piece that has 'crossover' written all over it," said Vaillancourt.

Lee and Vaillancourt, who were legally married in Canada in 2004, also are writing the feature adaptation of Neil Miller's 2002 nonfiction book "Sex-Crime Panic" for Funny Boy Films.

Their credits include MTV's "Undressed".
