Is best known for his portrayal of "Captain Arthur Hastings" on the television series, Poirot (1989), opposite David Suchet.

In the early 1970s, when he was a member of the folk/rock group, Telltale, he co-wrote the theme song to the British TV children's show, Rainbow (1972).

During the behind the scenes program for 'Sharpe's Challenge', stated that the makeup artists had to make a new 'Wellington nose' for the new series, as they couldn't find the old one. He stated he was taking the new one home with him after filming was complete, just in case another episode was planned.
