In 1990 his widow, Audrey Brown [1903-2004] edited and published "I Went That-A-Way," his memoirs of his Hollywood career working with stars like John Wayne, Clara Bow, Rex Bell and Tex Ritter, father of John Ritter.

Father of Ruth Findlay, who had roles in several of her father's films including Heroes of the Alamo (1937).
