Younger brother of Luís Sinde Filipe (b. 31 March 1928 and married to Maria Teresa Neves de Melo Oliveira Ferrão with two sons), Maria Inês Sinde Filipe (b. 3 April 1929 and married to João José Rocha de Moura Viegas Pimentel with five children) and Maria Helena Sinde Filipe (b. 14 May 1930 and married to Manuel Diniz Pinheiro with one daughter and one son).

Son of Francisco de Almeida Filipe (b. Vinhó, Vila Cova de Alva, Arganil, 25 November 1895, d. Cerdeira, Arganil, 1989) and wife (m. Coja, Arganil, 26 June 1927) Beatriz Candosa Sinde (b. Coja, Arganil, 26 January 1908, d. Santo António dos Olivais, Coimbra, 14 October 2000).

Grandfather of Vasco Milheiro Sinde Filipe and Hugo Milheiro Sinde Filipe (b. February 2003), twin sons of Daniel and his wife Teresa Milheiro.
