- [on her 'vamp' roles in the 1960s] I did end up playing a lot of these roles - murderesses, loose women etc. And they are always the better roles. The good girl, she just looks all doe-eyed and says nothing, there's no excitement. Playing the bad girl is always more fun - it's fun to seduce men and to murder them.
- [on Waldemar Matuska]: "I got to know Waldemar Matuska long before we did Lemonade Joe (1964) and then Fantom Morrisvillu (1966) together. Waldemar was just starting out in Prague, he didn't even have a place to live, so he slept in the theatre dressing room. I was playing with Jan Werich at the time and Matuska came to us in 1958. I think he was attracted there not only by Mr. Werich's personality, but as a musician he was also attracted by the excellent band, including Karel Vlach. I immediately took Matuska to my heart because he was a great soul and a wonderful person. We met all the time, also in his TV shows, some of which were directed by my husband Pavel Hása. But by then he was already famous and he didn't have to sleep in dressing rooms anymore. He was an excellent colleague who spread positive energy around, always good-humored and gallant."
