Appeared in four films that were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Two of them, Titanic (1997) and Os Infiltrados (2006), eventually won.

Irish playwright and character actor, often appearing in his own one-man plays, notably his portrayal of Irish playwright and poet Brendan Behan in "Brendan Behan: Confessions of An Irish Rebel." On screen often glimpsed as publicans/bartenders, priests or police officers.
