Raised as the son of Iranian parents, a reporter and a dress maker, his interest in comedy sparked at a young age. He attended The University of Ulster, Coleraine in Northern Ireland and earned a degree in English and theatre studies.

In his free time, he enjoys football, backgammon and tennis.
