Only one of the men, a 17-year-old named Elvin May of Brooklyn, was caught minutes later by witnesses and charged with two counts of robbery. Welch was taken to New York's Beth Israel Hospital where she was treated for lacerations above her right eye that required several stitches, a bruised left eye, scrapes to her face and hand, and back pains.
