On the night of 12 November, 1975, she was found unconscious and with several injuries on a curbside nearby a motel room, of which she fell five stores down. She was found by a taxi driver. The press immediately thought of a suicide attempt after acquaintances of the actress mention that she had tried to kill herself in other occasions. Her escort at the motel was businessman Marco Aurélio Sampaio Moreira Leite, who reported to the police he had left hours earlier before the incident. She stayed in coma for a couple of days, still injured and with partial vision in one eye.
