- Didn't decide to pursue a career in acting until he was 24. Conway worked as an IBM sales analyst prior to becoming an actor.

- Turned down the role of Theoden in The Lord of the Rings so he could reprise the role of Buster Kilrain in Deuses e Generais (2003), and the role went to Bernard Hill instead. Had he accepted, he would have worked with Karl Urban, who played Woodrow Call in Comanche Moon (2008), a prequel to Laredo: O Último Desafio (1995), in which Conway also appeared.
