- On February 3, 2003, she was found shot dead in record producer Phil Spector's home in Alhambra, California.
- A native Californian, growing up in hills of Sonoma Valley, where she enjoyed horseback riding. She loved horses and was given a roan mare named Breeze for her 10th birthday. She quickly became proficient at both English and Western riding styles.

- Was originally cast as an extra for the high school prom sequence in Picardias Estudantis (1982). Character actor Vincent Schiavelli came up with the idea of his character Mr. Vargas having a beautiful blonde young wife on the spot while the sequence was being filmed. He choose Lana Clarkson from a line-up of extras to portray Mrs. Vargas.
- At the age of eighteen acquired her SAG card on the movie Picardias Estudantis (1982), this being her first speaking role in a feature film. Her introductory lead role was in the movie Visão Fatal (1984), filmed in Greece, starring Kirstie Alley. While filming Rainha Guerreira (1985), in Argentina, she quickly picked up on sword fighting.
