On Feb. 1, 2016's Mechanic: Resurrection will be hitting Max. Directed by Dennis Gansel, the film is a sequel to the 2011 movie The Mechanic, which was itself a remake of Charle Bronson's 1972 actioner of the same name. Mechanic: Resurrection was a box office success, earning over $125 million worldwide – a sizable improvement over the first movie's haul of $76 million. For some fans of Statham, however, the movies are still best enjoyed together, so Max subscribers looking to first watch 2011's The Mechanic won't be able to do so on the same streaming platform in February.

As per Netflix, Dec. 31 will mark the last day Statham's The Mechanic and Redemption are available to stream on the platform. Both movies are considered favorites for many fans of the actor. It might be time for action movie icon Sylvester Stallone to turn in his guns, as the latest effort from the Rambo and Expendables star has now joined a notorious club on the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes. This year’s Armor, which finds Stallone on the wrong side of the law as a thief attempting to rob the titular armored truck, has now landed a seriously “rotten” score of 0% after 19 reviews. While the score could go still go up, it's unlikely to get away from that green splat.

Dennis Harvey of Variety found, well, nothing to like about Armor, criticizing everything from the script by Cory Todd Hughes and Adrian Speckert to the disappointing action thrills.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the holiday movie has proven to be extremely divisive. It debuted with a Rotten 32% Tomatometer score from critics. Top critics were even more negative, assigning just a 25% score. The audience, however, has been kinder. It currently sits at an 88% Popcornmeter score, which is enough to earn a Hot designation. It has over 100 reviews from critics and over 500 verified ratings from general viewers at the time of writing.

A new trailer has been revealed for Armor. Armor is an upcoming action-thriller starring Sylvester Stallone. The plot tells the story of a man who works with his son as a security guard for an armored truck company. When a day on the job goes wrong, the pair become trapped and must fight for their survival. Armor is directed by Justin Routt and features a leading cast including Stallone, Josh Wiggins, Dash Mihok, Jason Patric, Laney Stiebing, Erin Ownbey, and Jeff Chase.

Now, Lionsgate has released the trailer for Armor.

The trailer begins with Stallone's character explaining Murphy's Law, which he summarizes as "if something can go wrong, it will go wrong, at the worst possible time." The scene transitions to reveal a father and son who are driving an armored truck as security guards. Suddenly, Stallone and his crew attack the truck, and the security guards call dispatch for support.

The third weekend in October is starting to become the new home for the most crowded frame of the year. Last year, four new movies opened in wide release (The Last Witch Hunter, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, Rock the Kasbah and Jem and the Holograms, although none could beat The Martian, and two (Rock the Kasbah and Jem and the Holograms) didn't even crack the top 10. This year, four more new movies opened in wide release, Lionsgate's new Madea movie Boo! A Madea Halloween, Paramount's Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, Universal's Ouija: Origin of Evil and 20th Century Fox's Keeping Up With the Joneses. Jason Statham has signed on to return as Arthur Bishop in a sequel to his 2011 action-thriller The Mechanic, with German filmmaker Dennis Gansel coming on board to direct.

It isn't known if the project has a screenwriter attached yet, but Nu Image is currently shopping the sequel to buyers at the European Film Market in Berlin. The original movie, a remake of the 1972 film of the same name which starred Charles Bronson, follows Arthur Bishop, an assassin who lives by a strict code of conduct, and has a penchant for making his killings look like accidental deaths. This is the Pure Movies review for The Mechanic, directed by Simon West and starring Jason Statham, Ben Foster, Tony Goldwyn, Donald Sutherland, Jeff Chase, Mini Anden, James Logan and Eddie J. Fernandez. This may well be a remake of the classic 1972 Michael Winner film that had the rather grander Us title of Killer of Killers, and starred mean machine Charles Bronson, but when The Mechanic has Jason Statham in the lead, it’s another Transporter film, whichever way you (cynically) look at it. Good news for Statham fans, and fans of shoot/blow-em-up kung-fu-lery because it has all those exciting and well-staged elements done in an erratic and on-the-clock fashion, leaving out important plot-developments along the way, as though they’re irrelevant because the Statham stunt choreography and physique will distract any nitpickers.

But if you’re going to ask audiences to buy into a remake of the 1972 film by the same name with Charles Bronson originating Jason Statham’s role as Arthur Bishop, a film needs to make it less obvious that it’s just modernizing a 1970s flick for the purposes of making new money on a preexisting script.

While “The Mechanic” takes a page from all other hitman movies and employs every trick in the contract killer book we’ve already seen, the one redeeming difference is Statham’s inner dialogue and his cool, calculated demeanor. The Mechanic looks like it going to be a ridiculously badass action film! I love this new red band trailer, it shows off a lot of insane fun moments of the movie, hopefully it's not all of the the good parts. It was enough to get me even more excited to see this movie though. It looks like Statham at the top of his game.
