By the time Spider-Man: Brand New Day is released, Holland will have been playing the McU's Spidey for a decade. The expectation is that he'll star in at least one more trilogy for Marvel Studios, though he's also expressed a desire to pass the mantle to a young actor playing Miles Morales.

On Friday, it was confirmed that Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo have joined Tom Holland and Jon Bernthal in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Now, the wall-crawler has The Punisher, The Scorpion, and The Hulk to deal with, not to mention whoever Sadie Sink is playing. 

Today, we have news on more villains set to take centre stage in the movie, and there's one addition who it's fair to say none of us expected to see in the MCU movie.

According to scooper Daniel Richtman, "Some of the villains in Spider-Man Brand New Day are Tombstone, Tarantula, Boomerang, Scorpion and...Ramrod, who's a half cyborg."

Who's Ramrod? First introduced in 1973's Daredevil #103, Ramrod was a construction crew worker gravely injured in a work-related accident. The villains Kerwin Broderick and Moondragon hoped to take over San Francisco, so transformed Ramrod into a half-man, half-cyborg monstrosity whom they blackmailed into doing their bidding.

On Saturday morning (August 2), Sony Pictures released a new video of the 29-year-old actor in his new superhero suit as he prepares to begin production on Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

There have been rumblings online about this for a while, but The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Mark Ruffalo and Michael Mando will star in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Ruffalo, an MCU veteran who has appeared in everything from The Avengers to Thor: Ragnarok and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law will reprise his role as Bruce Banner, a.k.a. the Incredible Hulk. Mando, meanwhile, makes his return to the franchise as Mac Gargan, after first playing the character in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming.

He's expected to suit up as the Scorpion, and according to chatter from those who have visited the set, he's likely at the centre of the action sequence that's about to be shot in Glasgow, Scotland. At least a few villains from Spidey's corner of the MCU are also expected to appear, but it seems the spotlight will mostly be on Frank Castle and the Green Goliath. 

Popular YouTuber and leaker Displaying Model Behaviour has shared an alleged list of Hasbro's Marvel Legends action figures set for release in 2026, and it confirms that The Hulk will indeed appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. 

Unfortunately, there's no mention of any other characters outside of the Avenger, Spidey, and The Punisher.

Brand New Day is the next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man saga. The film is co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, with Sony Pictures handling distribution. It marks the 38th MCU film and the fourth Spider-Man solo movie following 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.

This time, the film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton with a script from Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the same writing duo behind the last two Holland-led Spidey adventures.

Cameras are expected to begin rolling on Spider-Man: Brand New Day later today, meaning we may be mere hours away from seeing Tom Holland in costume as the web-slinger.

However, he may not be the only character we see in action in Glasgow, Scotland (which is doubling for New York City).

According to scooper Daniel Richtman, "I heard that tomorrow they'll be filming a big action scene with Punisher and Spider-Man fighting over a Dodc transport convoy." The Dodc is, of course, the Department of Damage Control, an organisation we've seen quite a bit of in Marvel Studios' Spider-Man franchise.

What could Spidey and Frank Castle be fighting over? Well, there's obviously someone in that convoy who The Punisher believes is deserving of his lethal form of justice, with the wall-crawler stepping in to stop his fellow vigilante from killing.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is gearing up to start shooting in Glasgow, Scotland, and scooper Alex Perez appears very excited by some new details he's heard about the long-awaited Spider-Man: No Way Home follow-up.

"Oh my God...[Brand New Day] might just be our first campy Spider-Man movie," he shared on X earlier today. "This genuinely feels like a live-action version of The Animated Series. And I love it."

That actually sounds pretty perfect, especially for a franchise fans have long wanted to see take a step back from the Avengers to focus more on street-level storytelling. Perez would later add that the movie features "at least [three]" villains.
