Brent was awarded the 1981 Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress as Aunt Stella Binford in the slasher movie Escuridão da Morte (1980).

Eve Brent Ashe passed away on August 27, 2011, only two weeks away from what would have been her 82nd birthday on September 11.

Brent claimed she took the role of Jane in Tarzan e a Tribo Nagasu (1958) because her son James, then 6, loved Tarzan movies, but this proved to be a very costly career move.

One son, James Marshall Lewis, was born to her on November 12, 1951 in Bell County, Texas by husband Jack Baker Lewis.

She appeared in three films that were nominated for the Best Picture Oscar: Aeroporto (1970), À Espera de um Milagre (1999) and O Curioso Caso de Benjamin Button (2008).

She was cremated at Neptune Society in Sherman Oaks, California.
