Always hoped that Saddam Hussein would see his movie South Park: Maior, Melhor e Sem Cortes (1999), in which he and Matt Stone made fun of him. In 2004 Parker and Stone portrayed another active dictator, Jong-Il Kim of North Korea, in their new movie Team America: Detonando o Mundo (2004). Two days after the premiere, they sent a copy to the North Korean government.

Nearly every song heard on South Park (1997) is written by Parker. He also composed every new song for Team America: Detonando o Mundo (2004), including "Freedom Isn't Free", "America F*** Yeah!", and "The End of an Act", as well as "Everyone Has AIDS", the last of which he co-wrote.

Before South Park (1997) began airing, he was offered the chance to direct the feature film version of the popular purple dinosaur in As Aventuras de Barney (1998).

Parker has played piano since the age of 12 and credits Elton John as a hero. He also sings and plays the keyboard for a band called D.V.D.A.

On March 5, 2019, Trey Parker filed for divorce from his wife Boogie Parker (nee Tillman) citing irreconcilable differences through the Los Angeles court. The couple stopped living together on the 28th of February, 2019. Trey has filed for joint custody of their daughter and the terms of their pre-nuptial agreement discourage her from seeking spousal support.

His favorite director is Stanley Kubrick.

He and Matt Stone are good friends with Mike Judge.

He and Matt Stone have said that their favorite episode of South Park (1997) is Terrance and Phillip in Not Without My Anus (1998). He and Stone have said they both hate the first 3 seasons of the show which are too embarrassing for them to watch.

His character, Eric Cartman, was rated number 16 in Comedy Central's newest show 'Mouthing Off: 51 Greatest Smartasses'.

Parker's nickname, Trey, comes from his original name, Randolph Severn Parker III. He is the third person in his family with that same name, and Trey means "Three" in some languages. On South Park (1997), he voices, among other characters, "Stan Marsh" and Stan's father, "Randy Marsh". Parker gave Stan's parents the same names and occupations as his own parents (Sharon and Randy).

Considers the William Shakespeare play, 'Titus Andronicus', to be a major influence on his work.

Attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, before attending University of Colorado at Boulder.

Trey is listed as one of three "Renaissance Men" on the Tony Awards website, along with Broadway legends Tommy Tune and Harvey Fierstein, for winning Tonys in 4 different categories. However, unlike Tommy and Harvey, Trey won his 4 all in the same night (2011) and for the same show ("The Book of Mormon"). Trey received Tonys for Book of a Musical, Original Score, Direction of a Musical and (as a producer) Best Musical.

Trey has won several Emmys (for his work on "South Park"), the Grammy (for Best Cast Recording for "The Book of Mormon"), and 4 Tonys ("The Book of Mormon"), making him an Oscar win shy of becoming an EGOT.

He had written a script titled "Fuzzies", which is a children's story he was planning to direct using stop-motion-animation for the closet creatures, but the project has been put on hold. He and Matt Stone were also planning to make a movie based on "That's My Bush!".
