While he was modeling, he was picked up as a dancer for the band Dead or Alive, who had pop/dance hit singles with "You Spin Me Round" and "Brand New Lover". He was a member of the band's live show from 1987 until around the year 1990. James can be seen in Dead or Alive's 1988 home video release "Rip It Up Live", a full-length concert in which he and the other male dancer, along with the androgynous lead singer Pete Burns, strip down to nothing but g-strings.
Is an avid sportsman playing basketball, baseball and golf. Also enjoys
travelling home to Ohio to visit his family or to his wife's native
Puerto Rico.
