The first glimpse at the new Sean Reagan in Blue Bloods spinoff Boston Blue has arrived. A video was shared on X/Twitter on July 29 showing Donnie Wahlberg filming on an open set in Toronto, new costar Mika Amonsen by his side as they ran down the busy “Boston” street. Amonsen takes over for Andrew Terraciano in Boston Blue, officially premiering October 17 on CBS in Blue Bloods‘ old time slot (10/9c). His casting was announced on July 9. Terraciano and his real-life brother, Tony Terraciano, played Danny Reagan’s (Wahlberg) sons, Jack and Andrew, on Blue Bloods for the duration of the series. It’s not yet known if Jack Reagan will appear in the spinoff or if the role will be recast like Sean. In the video below, posted by an X user in Toronto, Wahlberg and Amonsen are seen running through a crowd and to a gunshot victim on the ground.

An original Blue Bloods cast member is set to join Donnie Wahlberg’s Boston Blue.
While we might not get to see the Reagan family together every episode, fans will get to see a familiar face in the form of Erin Reagan, played by Bridget Moynahan. Deadline reports that Danny’s sister will be joining her brother in his new home in Boston, although it may be temporary. She will appear in the premiere episode, and Moynahan is also going to direct an episode at some point during the season.
Wahlberg announced the news on his Instagram, sharing a photo with his television sister, who he worked alongside for 14 seasons. It will be a nice treat for fans who have wanted to see members of the cast appear in Boston Blue as well.

Although Marisa Ramirez isn't in the Boston Blue cast, that doesn't mean her character, Maria Baez, won't appear in the show, especially after Donnie Wahlberg's comments concerning Baez's whereabouts. As many know, Baez and Wahlberg's character, Danny Reagan, had a will-they/won't-they situation going on in Blue Bloods. Then, the CBS series ended with Danny asking Baez out.
The official Boston BlueInstagram page posted a video of Wahlberg teasing the show and revealing the Blue Bloods spinoff's release date. While the video itself didn't mention Baez, Wahlberg responded to a comment on the post mentioning his former onscreen partner. It read, "So I guess Danny didn’t end up with Baez?" The actor replied, "How about, wait and see?"

You’ve probably noticed that TV Fanatic can get a little loud when something bugs us.
Whether it’s the Emmys failing broadcast TV again or a beloved show mishandling a character arc, we don’t always hold back.
And you know what? That’s because we care.

We’re not here just to cheerlead. We’re here to engage.
When TV is great, we want to shout it from the rooftops. When it falls short, we’re going to talk about that too because we want it to be better. That’s not negativity. That’s passion.
But let’s be clear about one thing: TV Fanatic is so much more than “What went wrong this week?”

A new look at Boston Bluereveals Donnie Wahlberg's return as Danny Reagan. Ending a run that continued for almost 15 years, Blue Bloods ended last year. But even as the Tom Selleck-led police drama came to a close, there were early reports that the story would continue with a spinoff focused on Wahlberg's crucial character.
Boston Blue will premiere on CBS on Friday, October 17, at 10 Pm Et, focusing on Reagan as he moves to Boston and begins to work with the Police department. In the process, he's partnered with the eldest daughter of a law enforcement family. With the premiere just months away, we now have our first glimpse at what the premise will look like.
The official Instagram account for Blue Bloodsrecently posted a video of Wahlberg offering a tour of the spinoff and getting into character as Danny Reagan. The first video, included below, sees the actor...

The issues with Tracker and the way it buries its supporting cast have been well-documented by me over the hit series’ first two seasons, but somehow, I still kept the faith that they’d figure things out and adjust.
Sadly, that is not the case.
TV Line reported on July 18 that series regulars Eric Graise (Bobby Exley) and Abby McEnany (Velma Bruin) will be departing the series ahead of its third season.
(Sonja Flemming/CBS)
For those unfamiliar, Tracker tells the tale of Colter Shaw, played by the always charming Justin Hartley, who travels across the United States finding missing things in exchange for rewards.
I say that because, while we’ve mainly seen Colter find missing persons, we’ve also seen him find a missing horse. There are levels to this reward-seeking business.

Has TLC mastered the art of padding out episodes to squeeze every last cent from the 90 Day Fiancé franchise?
That thought hit me while watching 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Season 9 Episode 3 delivered very little of substance and leaned heavily on filler to meet its two-hour runtime.
(TLC/Screenshot)
Once upon a time, the franchise thrived with lean, drama-packed one-hour installments.
Now, nearly every entry clocks in at two hours, and for what?
Most of the storylines are either stalled or nonexistent, and it’s painfully apparent that many of these personalities have nothing interesting left to say.
We were promised a dramatic showdown between Gino and Jasmine, and what we got was a whole lot of nothing.

Did you ever think you would see the day George and Bertha were This far apart on everything?
To know the Russells is to see a household where George may be the breadwinner, but Bertha has always been the one to run the show on The Gilded Age.
However, George’s financial issues and the complete lack of control over Gladys’ situation have pushed him to a place he has never entered before. A place where he’s no longer willing to trust Bertha unquestioningly, and one could say it’s about time.

George and Bertha have been referred to as couple goals over the years, and I get it on the surface. They’ve always functioned as a well-oiled machine, and they help each other where necessary.

It’s no secret that we’re living in the era of streaming saturation and IP gold rushes to the point of fatigue.
Ironically, the most overlooked goldmine television has barely tapped into is what flows directly to our ears: fiction podcasts!
As one of a handful of things that carried me through the pandemic, I can attest to how audio dramas have been quietly and carefully crafting deeply cinematic, emotionally charged, and narratively daring stories for years.
(Colin Bentley/The CW)
Shockingly, only a few have leaped to television. Homecoming, Limetown, and Archive 81 are among the most notable.
But there are so many that still lie in wait for someone to pluck them up, negotiate accordingly, and bring them from our headphones to our small screens.

Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 7-21-25 suggest a major health crisis is on the horizon.
I’m more excited about this than about the fallout from it, especially after learning where this story is headed.
Still, health crises are a soap staple, and the emotional aspects of this story should be strong… even if it is leading up to a twist I am not looking forward to.

Even though Marlena’s labs came back completely normal, I knew there had to be something more to her dizzy spells.
There would be no point in setting up the story otherwise.

From the genius Under the Skin to Alex Garland's Ex Machina and the big-budget, Timothée Chalamet-led Dune: Part Two, the 21st century has graced audiences with some of the finest sci-fi movies of all time. However, with the good inevitably comes the bad, with many citing Jon Amiel's 2003 sci-fi disaster The Core as one of the worst, despite a strong cast and an impressive 2003 budget working in its favor.
Loathed for its nonsensical premise and a complete and utter disregard for the science element of science-fiction, The Core received just 39% from critics and an even worse 34% from audiences on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. However, over 20 years later, the film has found unlikely success, thanks in no small part to the ever-present desire for Aaron Eckhart and Hilary Swank movies. Officially, as of July 14, 2025, The Core is one of the ten most-streamed titles on Tubi in the U.

If Resident Alien had a Mount Rushmore of unforgettably weird, uncomfortably familiar characters, Stephen Root just blasted his way onto it with alien-grade precision.
As Harry’s father, Ed, Root delivered a performance that was equal parts terrifying, hilarious, and emotionally devastating — often in the same breath.
We knew from our earlier chat that Root was excited to reunite with longtime friend Alan Tudyk, but what we didn’t know was just how much chaos he’d unleash in a single episode.
(Courtesy of USA Network/Syfy)
With his commanding presence, relentless barbs, and masterful control of tone, Root’s Ed barreled into Harry’s life to do one thing: pass judgment. And if that meant breaking his son down to do it? So be it.
“There’s not a lot of redeeming qualities in him,” Root said bluntly. “I think he probably had the same bad dad that I am in this.

Sometimes, the people who break you are the ones who made you. And sometimes, you survive them anyway.
If Resident Alien has taught us anything, it’s that no one gets through life — or the galaxy — without a few bruises from the people who raised them.
Resident Alien Season 4 Episode 7 is all about the damage done by family and the long road to self-worth, with plenty of humor along the way.
(USA Network/Screenshot) D’arcy Fights for the Truth (and Her Sobriety)
Let’s talk about D’arcy. My girl is standing in the street alone while everyone else waltzes around with partners, and that’s basically the mood of the episode.
She’s sober now. She thought about ending her life and decided not to, and went to AA instead. That’s massive, but it’s not as easy as deciding to stop drinking. There’s a lot more...

The latest Boston Blue casting announcement is good news.
Star Donnie Wahlberg recently took to Instagram to share that Blue Bloods’ Erin Reagan would make a guest appearance in the spinoff’s premiere episode.
That answers one question: Will Boston Blue be more than tangentially related to Blue Bloods?
(John Paul Filo/CBS) Why I’m Not Completely Surprised by This Boston Blue Casting Announcement
Boston Blue may be a spinoff, but it’s also a new show in development, and those often change as they get closer to production.
It was only a year ago that Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage was set to premiere, with plans to include only one member of the Young Sheldon cast, which quickly changed. I figured Boston Blue would do something similar.

Donnie Wahlberg continues to tease fans about who might show up in the Blue Bloodsspin-off. Wahlberg's character, Danny Reagan, is heading to Wahlberg's beloved Boston for a spin-off series called Boston Blue. And since many of the original cast is not heading to the home of the New England Patriots, fans have been asking Wahlberg repeatedly about who can take the trip up to the land of Dunkin Donuts. But if you're worried that you'll never see your favorites again, don't be. At least, if you ask about a character from the flagship series, chances are that Wahlberg hopes they'll make an appearance in the new show.
One fan posted their excitement about the series in the comments of Wahlberg's recent Instagram post. The fan wrote "Excited for this, but really hope he's with Baez," referring to Detective Maria Baez, who was played by Marisa Ramirez on the flagship series.

He posted a picture of himself and Moynahan together, and a caption discussing her guest appearance in the premiere,...

We’re facing some conflicting feelings when it comes to NCIS: Origins.
While it took Lala a minute to find her footing on the series, she eventually did. She’s been the beating heart of the team, often managing to challenge and hold her own against the men of Nis. And she’s done so in a time when navigating the testosterone-laden world was remarkably hard.
What’s stuck with us since the premiere is that this is the story of “her,” referring to Lala. And the season concluded with her in dire straits. But what’s next?
(Erik Voake/CBS )
After watching NCIS: Origins Season 1 Episode 18, they knocked the wind out of us with a heartwrenching cliffhanger that saw our girl Lala Dominguez unconscious, hanging upside down in her car after a horrific accident.
And the ending, as it aligned with Gibbs’ voiceover, implied that she very well could be gone.

Yes, we’re still in our thoughts and feelings about the 2025 Emmys nominations.
How could we not be when it feels like TV doesn’t trust the audience anymore, or prestige fatigue disrupts the entire Emmy process?
Even at its worst (and we won’t pretend it hasn’t been struggling as of late), it remains the bread and butter and backbone of television. However, streamers and premium networks chasing accolades have effectively eliminated broadcast as worthy contenders in a race that should recognize the best of television.

There was a time when Broadcast received its due and proper recognition from this committee, which actually watched more than the same buzzworthy handful of shows and didn’t randomly place ill-fitting series into the wrong categories.

Big news dropped on CBS on Thursday evening as Stephen Colbert confirmed to viewers that The Late Show had been canceled.
The late-night talk show has been on the air since 1993, when it kicked off with David Letterman at the helm.
The decision to end will take effect from the 2025-26 TV season, so the show will remain on the air for a while yet.
(CBS/Screenshot)
Still, it certainly makes you wonder what went on behind the scenes for CBS to come to this decision.
You don’t just cancel a series that’s been on the air for over three decades without considering your options.
(CBS/Screenshot)
“This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night,” CBS said in a statement about the decision.
CBS Confirms The Late Show Cancellation

Dexter Morgan is back in the driver’s seat — literally — but that doesn’t mean he’s got control of the wheel.
Dexter: Resurrection Season 1 Episode 3, “Backseat Driver,” leans into the dark comedy of Dexter trying to pass for a functioning human in New York City.
Spoiler: he’s terrible at it.

He’s a ride-share driver with no charger, no water, no social skills, and the warm energy of a used scalpel. But bless Blessing (again), who gently lets Dexter know that a three-star rating isn’t “not bad” — it’s career-ending.
So while Dexter tries to work on his bedside manner, he’s also plotting the death of Ronald Schmidt, aka The Imposter, aka The Not-So-Dark Passenger. And let’s be real: Dexter is thriving.

As summer winds down, CBS is wasting no time building excitement for the fall as the network has unveiled its schedule for the much-anticipated new TV season. Given the wave of cancellations that shook fans towards the end of last season, some beloved staples like Blue Bloods, FBI: Most Wanted, and The Equalizer are, sadly, missing this time around. But as we say goodbye to long-running hits, CBS is hoping to win us over with a slate of new titles ready to fill the void. The bulk of these new offerings come in the form of spin-offs, stepping up to build upon the legacy of their predecessors. From dramas and procedurals to comedies, the fall schedule is packed, and we can’t wait to see how it unfolds.

The CBS fall 2025-2026 television schedule has been released, and we know exactly when Boston Blue will air. We already knew it would take over the Friday night time slot held by its predecessor, Blue Bloods, but premiere dates were just officially announced.
Airing alongside Fire Country and Sheriff Country, the series premiere of Boston Blue is set to air on Friday, Oct. 17 at 10/9c. Sheriff Country is also a new series and while it will air right before Boston Blue on Oct. 17, before moving to the 8 pm time slot beginning on Oct. 24. The schedule change for the first two shows will not affect Boston Blue, which will stay the same for its run in the first season.
Boston Blue will follow Donnie Wahlberg’s Danny Reagan as he moves to Boston and joins the police department alongside Detective Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green), who also comes from a family legacy of law enforcement.

A rising tide lifts all boats, and it looks like that adage might hold true even if one of the boats is a shipwreck. One high-profile Stephen King adaptation has already hit theaters this year, in the form of The Life of Chuck, and two more are on their way: The Long Walk and The Running Man. That success seems to have rubbed off on one of the most maligned King adaptations ever: 2003's Dreamcatcher, a science fiction misfire with a 28% Rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes. It's currently holding steady at #4 on the free, ad-supported streaming service Tubi after entering the charts a week ago.
Many of King's works have an autobiographical element, and Dreamcatcher is no different. It was the first book King wrote after he was hit by a van in 1999, breaking his right leg and hip and collapsing his right lung. He hand-wrote the book in longhand...

Paramount+ is the home of many exciting shows. In 2025 alone, several of the world's biggest titles have been released to the streamer, making a subscription a must for millions. With such high-profile shows comes the ever-evolving battle for streaming supremacy. As of July 8, 2025, said battle has swung slightly the way of Taylor Sheridan's franchise-spawning series, Yellowstone, which still proves one of the most popular shows in the world despite ending its last season over six months ago.

Boston Blue spoilers and updates reveal Danny Reagan’s (Donnie Wahlburg) son Sean Reagan (Andrew Terracino) has been recast in the new show. Here’s everything we know about the new Blue Bloods spinoff show.
Sean Reagan Is Now A Cop
Danny Reagan is set to bring a familiar face from Blue Bloods to Boston Blue — but this character will appear quite different to fans of the CBS series.
In this spin-off, Donnie Wahlberg returns as NYPD Officer Danny Reagan, transitioning to the Boston Police Department, where he teams up with Detective Lena Silver (portrayed by Sonequa Martin-Green), the eldest daughter of a well-known law enforcement family.
As for the reason behind Danny’s relocation, it seems as if it’s his younger son, Sean Reagan, who has taken on the role of a patrolman with the Boston Pd.

As the current broadcast season wraps up, networks are already looking ahead to the fall. What won’t change for the 2025-2026 season: There are dramas, comedies, animated series, and unscripted shows filling the time slots. CBS even has a couple shows set for 2026-2027, including the new Einstein, starring Matthew Gray Gubler. On CBS, there are a couple changes: NCIS is moving back to its original time slot, Tuesdays at 8/7c, to be followed by spinoffs NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney, for an all-ncis night. FBI is moving to Mondays at 9/8c (NCIS‘s old spot), and Watson is airing after it with CIA moving to the midseason. While other networks are still finding their footing after the strike, CBS is stepping into fall with something increasingly rare: a scripted slate that actually resembles a normal broadcast season.
Anchoring its schedule with 16 returning series and four new ones, CBS is leaning into procedural comfort food and fresh intrigue.
Friday nights get a serious shakeup with Sheriff Country, led by Morena Baccarin, and Boston Blue, starring Donnie Wahlberg and Sonequa Martin-Green. Both shows are poised to bring new energy to familiar beats.

Donnie Wahlberg is currently hard at work filming his Blue Bloods spin-off, Boston Blue, but one project from the star that’s over 20 years old has stumbled back into the streaming spotlight. Wahlberg stars alongside Michael Fassbender, Neal McDonough, and a host of other stars in Band of Brothers, the 2001 WWII miniseries telling the story of the Easy Company of the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division and their lengthy journey from Operation Overlord to V-j Day. Band of Brothers is streaming on both HBO Max and Netflix in the U.S., and it’s also become a streaming hit in other countries such as Germany and Mauritania. The series earned a nearly perfect 94% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a stunning 97% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter.

Donnie Wahlberg will not be the only Reagan family member to return from Blue Bloods to appear in the upcoming offshoot, Boston Blue. However, the returning Reagan will be looking a little different, as another actor will be in the role.
As has been reported previously, Wahlberg will lead the cast of the new series, reprising his role as Danny Reagan. Per Deadline, it's been reported that the character's youngest son, Sean, will be featured as another main character on Boston Blue. The character originally appeared in a recurring capacity on Blue Bloods with Andrew Terraciano in the role, but Mika Amonsen (Reacher) has been tapped to play Sean in the new series. The Reagan family has acquired a new member — just not in the way we were expecting. On the heels of Donnie Wahlberg’s announcement that table reads had begun for his Blue Bloods spin-off, Boston Blue, it’s been revealed that his character’s son has been recast. When the CBS procedural arrives on screens this fall, Danny Reagan’s (Wahlberg) son, Sean, will be played by Mika Amonsen (Thanksgiving). Andrew Terraciano previously appeared as the child of Detective Danny Reagan during the original show’s 14-season run, but, according to Deadline, the creative team decided to go in a different direction for the next chapter. That different direction will see Sean following in the family's footsteps and seeking out a career in law enforcement.
