Son of Tom Hanks and Samantha Lewes

Real-life father Tom Hanks also played his father in A Mente que Mente (2008).

His last name at birth was Dillingham, his mother's name, but he changed it to Hanks after his parents married.

His mother, Samantha Lewes, died of bone cancer on March 13, 2002.

Stated on The Howard Stern Radio Show (1998) that he thinks the funniest movie his father had ever done was A Última Festa de Solteiro (1984). He also stated that his father wouldn't agree with that choice.

I collect watches because I'm always late, and I need to know exactly how late I'm going to be - in order to come up with a good excuse.

Normally, what I do for fun is just nothing. I try to just relax. Normally, it involves just relaxing and reading and maybe going out and meeting up with a friend. I live a very simple existence. I would much rather just sit around and listen to a couple of records and read the paper.
