10 Best Movies Like Clerks 3
Image
Movies like Clerks III deliver raunchy humor with heart. With Clerks III, Kevin Smith returned to the franchise that he started his career with, delivering yet another chapter in the story of Dante Hicks and Randal Graves, the clerks who haven't really done much with their lives since the first movie, where they worked in a convenience store and video store in New Jersey. The third movie follows Randall and Dante, who, faced with their own mortality, decide to make a movie based on their lives at the Quick Stop.

The first Clerks movie was one of the films that helped set the stage for the rise of independent filmmaking in the 1990s. However, the second movie was more in line with something like Mallrats, a teenage R-rated comedy that predated American Pie. While Clerks II received the worst critical acclaim of the franchise trilogy, Clerks III returned with the raunchy R-rated humor,...

November 21 Will Be a Great Day for Kevin Smith Fans
Image
Kevin Smith broke into Hollywood with his iconic indie comedy, Clerks, back in 1994. Almost thirty years later, the indie icon brought audiences back to the iconic Quick Stop Convenience Store with Clerks III, which will find a new streaming home on Nov. 21.

Clerks III will be available to stream on Peacock starting Nov. 21. Released almost thirty years after Clerks, the third film once again centers around Randal and Dante, but this time life gets a tad more serious for the owners of the iconic Quick Stop. After suffering a heart attack, Randal and Dante finally pursue their dreams of making a film together, choosing to shoot it in black and white and setting it at the Quick Stop Convenience Store, mirroring the real-life production of the first film. Pulling from the real-life medical scare the writer-director faced back in 2018, Clerks III feels like an emotional retrospective of Smith's entire career,...

This is so because ComicBook reports that Clerks is currently streaming for free on Pluto, three decades following its theatrical release and, without a doubt, serving as the perfect watch for the season. Released in 1994, Clerks is the first of Smiths View Askewniverse films and stars the filmmaker along with Brian O'Halloran, Jeff Anderson, Marilyn Ghigliotti, Lisa Spoonauer, Jason Mewes, and Scott Mosier.

Kevin Smith's First (and Highest-Rated) Movie Is Now Streaming for Free
Image
Just because they serve you... doesn't mean they like you.

Currently, Clerks is streaming for free on Pluto TV. The film, which was the first movie directed by Kevin Smith, was originally released in 1994. Due to its low budget, the film was shot in black and white and primarily takes place in and around a real-life convenience store in New Jersey. It is also the first movie to introduced Smith as Silent Bob alongside Jason Mewes as Jay, launching what would come to be known as the View Askewniverse.

Clerks: The Animated Series was never given a fair shake during its initial run, but it would undeniably make a perfect fit in the age of streaming.

While the film came early in Smith's career and was hindered by a low budget, it was nevertheless a hit due to its critical acclaim.

How To Watch Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse In Order
Image
Established with Clerks in 1994, View Askewniverse refers to the multimedia empire that Kevin Smith built from the ground up as an indie filmmaker. In addition to the movies featuring Jay and Silent Bob, View Askew has expanded its reach across comic books, podcasts, and TV shows for its dedicated fanbase.

View Askew's ninth feature film, Clerks III, was released in 2023 and showed Kevin Smith fans how much Dante and Randall have evolved over the years. As the View Askewniverse grows, it's worth chronicling the entire View Askew watch order from beginning to end to chart Smith's artistic growth as a cinematic storyteller.

Jordan Iacobucci on September 2, 2024: The View Askewniverse is one of the more underrated shared universes in film, and it's had several entries throughout the years. Rising from humble indie film beginnings, the Askewniverse timeline chronicles the adventures of various characters spawned by comedian and writer Kevin Smith.

10 Movies From The 1990s That Put A Dark Spin On Living In The Suburbs
Image
Many '90s films exposed the dark side of suburban life, challenging the perception of perfection with hidden struggles and sinister secrets. Cinema of the '90s twisted suburban bliss into something malevolent and thought-provoking, delving into complex characters and societal issues. Movies like Clerks, Apt Pupil, and Pleasantville offered unique perspectives on suburban life, exploring existential dread, hidden pasts, and societal repression.

Suburban life was sold as the dream of the traditional nuclear family, but if movies are to be believed, the suburbs were also a hotbed for angst, lust, and murder. Movies of the 1990s were especially interested in exploring themes that uncovered the darker underbelly of the shiny beacon of middle-class life, piercing its pristine veil for its audience of disaffected youth. These films revealed that beneath the surface of the manicured lawns and the white picket fences lay a world of hidden desires and moral decay.

That '70s Show's 24-Year-Old Unseen Character Reveal Creates A Paradox After That '90s Show S1 Story
Image
That '90s Show honors its parent series by including characters and references from That '70s Show in its storyline. The casting of Kevin Smith as Sonny creates a paradox within the show's universe due to his iconic movie roles. The inclusion of Smith's character may pose challenges for future movie references, creating a dilemma for the show's writers.

When That '90s Show recently brought an unseen character from That '70s Show onscreen, it contradicted its own canon. The series is a fantastic spinoff of the original series about a bunch of 1970s Wisconsin teenagers on the cusp of adulthood that has proven to be just as popular. The series will soon stream the second half of its second season on Netflix, although it seems That '90s Show season 2 will lose another original cast member ahead of the new episodes.

That 90s Show has not forgotten where it has come from.

Netflix Shines Light On 1994 As Great Year For Film; What Got Left On Cutting Room Floor
Image
Who says 1994 was a classic year for cinema? Netflix begins today to make that argument, curating a release of 17 films that turned 30 this year. The streamer has its list below. I have mine, and with the exception of the seminal Farrelly Brothers-directed Dumb & Dumber with Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, and Luc Besson’s Leon: The Professional, the film that stars Jean Reno and a sinister Gary Oldman and introduced the world to the outsized talent Natalie Portman, and maybe Ron Howard’s The Paper, there’s a lot missing. How about Forrest Gump, The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, The Lion King, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Clear and Present Danger, Sicario, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Interview With the Vampire, Speed, Ed Wood, and the other two films in a starmaking year for Jim Carrey, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and The Mask. While Waiting For Tires Season 2, Watch This 30-Year-Old Comedy Movie With 90% On Rotten Tomatoes
Image
The Netflix show Tires shares similarities with Kevin Smith's 1994 cult classic Clerks, featuring workplace comedy and slacker characters. Tires quickly climbed Netflix's Top 10 list and got renewed for season 2, but unlike the highly praised Clerks, critics are still divided. Fans of Tires can watch Clerks and its two sequels while awaiting new episodes of the Netflix comedy.

Fans who can't wait for Tires season 2 can get their workplace comedy fix from a '90s cult classic that's reminiscent of the new Netflix series. Created by comedian Shane Gillis with his frequent collaborators Steve Gerben and John McKeever, Tires follows Gerben's character, Will, as he tries to make improvements to the auto repair business he inherited from his father while coping with relentless torment from his cousin, Shane (Gillis), who works at the shop. Starring alongside Gerben and Gillis in the cast of Netflix's Tires are Stavros Halkias, Kilah Fox,...

Kevin Smith Has One Regret With The Way He Handled Clerks
Image
One of the weirdest things about getting older are those moments when you look around and suddenly realize everybody else looks ancient too; your family, friends, and those celebrities and movie stars you grew up watching and assumed would stay young forever.

My brain still struggles to compute the fact that Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp are both almost 60. Pitt still looks great; I have no data to support this, but I'm sure millions of middle-aged men were inspired to renew their gym membership after he took his shirt off in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood." On the flip side, Depp now looks like a guy who lives on a canal boat with several cats.

Belated remakes and reboots can show their age, too. "Trainspotting" was the acerbic voice of a restless generation, while the cringey retread of the "Choose Life" speech in the sequel was just like Grandpa Simpson yelling at clouds.

Clerks III Review: Kevin Smith Closes Up Shop with Grace
Kevin Smith, Jeff Anderson, Jason Mewes, and Brian O'Halloran in O Balconista 3 (2022)
The more things change, the more they stay the same. That may be the overriding theme of Clerks III, the third, and perhaps final, entry in writer-director Kevin Smith’s Quick Stop convenience story trilogy that has been the anchor for nearly his entire canon of films.

While certain life-shaking events have taken place in the 16 years since Smith made Clerks II—events which we won’t reveal here—the new movie gets the most mileage out of familiar situations and characters in the orbit of the Quick Stop, the fictional New Jersey store based on Smith’s own early work history at a convenience store before he became a filmmaker.

Yet while the film retains much of the often coarse, crude humor of many of Smith’s earlier View Askewniverse movies, and while his filmmaking style still usually hinges on long, static shots of people just standing around and talking,...

Clerks III Review
Image
Plot: After a near fatal heart attack, Randal convinces his convenient shop partner Dante to help him make a movie about his life working at the Quick Stop.

Review: Back in 1994, Kevin Smith’s indie classic, Clerks, became the unsung hero of those working behind the counter and in customer service. It also inspired many young filmmakers to make movies of their own. I became an instant fan of the hockey jersey-wearing Smith, as well as his on-screen persona of “Silent Bob.” And yes, I’ve appreciated much of what he brought to his later features. Still I was weary about Clerks III. Dante, Randal, Jay, and his wordless sidekick, Bob. How do you continue with the dick and fart jokes when all the original actors are well into middle age? It certainly doesn’t hurt to borrow from real-life adulthood fears.

Nearly thirty years after we first met Dante...

Clerks III Review: Kevin Smith's Deeply Personal Goodbye To The Past
Image
Twenty-eight years after Kevin Smith made his film debut with the foul-mouthed low-budget comedy "Clerks" and 16 years after the sweet and silly sequel, "Clerks II," the director returns to the Quick Stop to bring the story full circle in "Clerks III." Clerks Dante Hicks (Brian O'Halloran) and Randal Graves (Jeff Anderson) own the convenience store that brought them together, but they aren't sure if they've achieved their dreams or just fallen into their same old routines. Then Randal has a heart attack and realizes life is too short to waste, so he wants to make a movie.

This is Smith at his most deeply personal: Randal's heart attack is clearly based on Smith's own, and the creation of his film at the Quick Stop is a metacommentary on the making of the first "Clerks." Fans in search of the mile-a-minute crass comedy of some of his earlier work, including the...

Kevin Smith outlines scrapped Clerks III script
Image
This script wasn’t even supposed to be here today! Or any day, really. At the premiere of Clerks III, writer, director and Southwest Airlines extra baggage Kevin Smith offered some details about how the movie almost turned out.

In what Kevin Smith called “a movie about dealing with grief”, the original Clerks III script opened during Hurricane Sandy, which pummeled Smith’s home state of New Jersey (and others) in 2012.

“Dante and Randal were locked in a jail because the original version of Clerks III was the opening of Jay and Silent Bob Reboot where the cops come in and bust Jay and Silent Bob.”

Once the gang is released from prison for safety reasons, they find their beloved Quick Stop has been destroyed. To cope, Randal goes to the movies but the picture he wants to see hasn’t been released yet, prompting him to “[build] a lean-to version of Quick Stop,...

Kevin Smith Details Plot of Original Script for ‘Clerks III’: “Mercifully, We Never Made It”
Image
Click here to read the full article.

Kevin Smith says he started thinking about another Clerks film after finishing the 2006 sequel. While he ultimately accomplished the task — Clerks III hits theaters courtesy of Lionsgate in partnership with Fathom Events on Sept. 13-18 — the beloved filmmaker is relieved that it’s not based on his original script.

“It opened on the evening of Hurricane Sandy,” Smith detailed to The Hollywood Reporter ahead of Wednesday night’s premiere at Tcl Chinese 6 Theaters in Hollywood. “Dante and Randal were locked in a jail because the original version of Clerks III was the opening of Jay and Silent Bob Reboot where the cops come in and bust Jay and Silent Bob. All of them were arrested and there’s an interrogation scene and somebody comes in and says, ‘We gotta get ‘em out and put them in cells because it’s coming.’ And [the guys] are like,...

Kevin Smith Talks Ben Affleck’s ‘Clerks III’ Cameo: ‘It Was So Blissful’
Image
In addition to reuniting him with several of the “Clerks” actors whose careers he helped launch back in 1994, “Clerks III” gave Kevin Smith another chance to direct his old friend Ben Affleck in a cameo role — and pay tribute to their long friendship with a very inside joke.

The two previously worked together on several early-career films, including “Mallrats,” “Chasing Amy,” “Dogma” and “Jersey Girl,” and as Smith told Variety at the new film’s Hollywood premiere at the Chinese 6, Affleck was extremely eager to appear in a cameo as one of several famous faces — including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze, Jr., Danny Trejo and Melissa Benoist — auditioning for a role in the movie-within-a-movie being made by the Quick Stop clerks.

“He was like, ‘I’m there. It’ll be great.’ It was so blissful. He came in for an hour,” said Smith, who, following several years of estrangement, rekindled...

Clerks 3: Release Date, Cast And More

(Welcome to ...And More, our no-frills, zero B.S. guide to when and where you can watch upcoming movies and shows, and everything else you could possibly stand to know.)

Nearly 30 years after its cinematic debut, I assure you, the Quick Stop is open once again thanks to "Clerks III." After trying to manifest this project in a number of different ways since the release of the second film in 2006, fan-favorite filmmaker Kevin Smith is finally presenting the third chapter in Dante Hicks and Randal Graves' story in a theater near you. And interestingly enough, this movie brings the New Jersey native all the way back to his first chapter as the characters that kickstarted his career back in the early '90s are now making their own movie about working in a convenience store.

To avoid the real tragedy of showing up at the theater when you're not even supposed to be there today,...

First Trailer for Kevin Smith's Sequel 'Clerks III' with Dante & Randal
Kevin Smith
"Everything in the script is something either me, or someone I know, said." The boys are back... again! For a third time! Lionsgate has revealed the first official trailer for Kevin Smith's Clerks III, another sequel to his iconic B&w Clerks indie film that premiered at Sundance in 1994. Kevin Smith writes and directs, again, and brings back the classic cast for one more adventure: Brian O'Halloran as Dante Hicks and Jeff Anderson as Randal Graves, the Quick Stop store clerks, return with a cast including Marilyn Ghigliotti, Rosario Dawson, and Trevor Fehrman. Plus of course Jason Mewes as Jay & Kevin Smith as Silent Bob. Another meta story from Ks: after surviving a heart attack, Randal decides to make a movie with Dante about their lives at the Quick Stop convenience store. Some of you may have forgotten that Clerks II was actually pretty good, and this looks like it will be harmless fun.

Clerks 3 Will Recreate Famous Jay & Silent Bob Scene from the Original
Kevin Smith, Marilyn Ghigliotti, Jeff Anderson, Brian O'Halloran, and Lisa Spoonauer in O Balconista (1994)
The original Clerks was, arguably, geek culture’s first major shot across the mainstream bow upon its Oct. 1994 release. With the film having rode Cannes Film Festival buzz from earlier that year, the print-media-proliferated story of a regular dude from New Jersey selling his precious comic book collection to help fund his $27,575 indie passion project stoked a cultural curiosity that money couldn’t buy. Of course, said curiosity yielded the breakthrough of a lifetime for the dude in question, Kevin Smith. Now, some 27 years and several shared-universe films later, the filmmaker and recent Masters of the Universe visionary reveals that Clerks III will provide the ultimate onscreen homage to his watershed original: A Jay & Silent Bob dance number.

The wrap of principal photography for Clerks III was announced by director Smith in a celebratory tweet accompanied by a photo of the cast and producers inside of Quick Stop Groceries, specifically...

Clerks III Officially Wraps Filming, Kevin Smith Shares Final Set Photo
Image
That's a wrap on Clerks III. Over the past month, Kevin Smith gathered the old gang from Clerks to shoot the third installment of the trilogy, culminating with a final shoot on Aug. 31. Revealing that the sequel has officially wrapped filming, Smith posted a final photo from the set providing another sneak peek at the returns of Dante, Randal, and Jay & Silent Bob. It's going to be hard for any fan of the original movie not to get excited once seeing the image.

Kevin Smith has previously released images of Dante (Brian O'Halloran) and Randal (Jeff Anderson) in their new Quick Stop uniforms. The new photo brings another look at the pair behind the counter joined by Jay Mewes and Smith as Jay and Silent Bob. Fans will also notice plenty of Easter eggs in that one photo referencing the original, including the return of Chewlie's brand gum. Along with the image,...

Clerks III Brings Back Chewlie's Gum, Get Yours Now
Image
Chewlie's gum will be back at the Quick Stop in Kevin Smith's upcoming sequel Clerks III. Written and directed by Smith, the movie is now wrapping up filming after a month-long shoot at the original Quick Stop store in Leonardo, New Jersey. Smith has previously teased his plans to fill Clerks III with Easter eggs and other homages to the original movie which even includes recreating some of the same shots.

Several original characters from Clerks will be appearing in Clerks III, including Brian O'Halloran and Jeff Anderson in the lead roles as Dante Hicks and Randal Graves. In a recent post on Instagram, actor Scott Schiaffo has also teased our first look at the return of the Chewlie's gum salesman seen in the original Clerks. The character, who had a very memorable scene with Dante and his then-girlfriend Veronica (Marilyn Ghigliotti), is apparently still representing Chewlie's in Leonardo after all these years.

Clerks III Goes Meta by Recreating Shots from the Original Movie

Kevin Smith's career is coming full circle with the production of his latest movie Clerks III. Currently shooting at the old Quick Stop in Leonardo, New Jersey, Clerks III brings back Brian O'Halloran and Jeff Anderson for one last movie highlighting their lives as perennial clerks Dante Hicks and Randal Graves. The movie is a labor of love that Smith has been actively spending the last seven years trying his hardest to get made.

The indie filmmaking legend's dream of shooting Clerks III has become a reality, and Smith is now just days away from wrapping principal photography. Providing another sneak peek at the sequel, Smith posted a photo online revealing a new black-and-white shot of Dante and Randal at the counter in Clerks III. Veronica Returns as Marilyn Ghigliotti Wraps Filming on Clerks III
Image
Marilyn Ghigliotti has wrapped filming for her return as Veronica in Clerks III. With production now underway in Leonardo, New Jersey, Kevin Smith's third Clerks movie will bring Dante (Brian O'Halloran) and Randal (Jeff Anderson) back to where it all began at the Quick Stop. Smith has also revealed that the sequel will bring back many other fan favorites, including Rosario Dawson reprising her Clerks II role as Dante's wife Becky.

In the original Clerks, Marilyn Ghigliotti co-starred as Veronica, Dante's girlfriend at the time. Their relationship becomes part of a love triangle when Dante's ex Caitlin (the late Lisa Spoonauer) comes back into his life, and by the end, Veronica appears to break up with the Quick Stop clerk. Ghigliotti did not appear in Clerks II as the sequel revealed they did not get back together, and Dante had since gotten married to someone else.

Written and directed by Smith, the movie has been rolling around in development hell for years after many failed attempts to get production started. Lionsgate recently picked up the sequel and filming is currently underway in New Jersey, making it now official that we'll see the Quick Stop clerks back on the clock on the big screen.

Clerks III First Look Reunites Dante and Randal Behind the Quick Stop Counter
Image
Kevin Smith has officially kicked off filming of Clerks 3 at the Quick Stop in New Jersey, and to paraphrase Dante Hicks, the cast and crew are supposed to be there today. In 1994, Smith launched his movie career with the highly successful release of the original Clerks. Starring Brian O'Halloran and Jeff Anderson, the hit comedy was shot in the real-life convenience store where Smith worked, following the lives of two Quick Stop clerks.

At the time, Smith probably had no idea what would be in store after the movie's release. Nearly three decades later, he's coming back full circle with the third and likely final installment of the Clerks movie series. On Monday, which happened to be Kevin Smith's 51st birthday, the director posted the first image from day one of shooting, and fans ought to appreciate seeing O'Halloran and Anderson back behind the counter. Clerks III Begins Filming as Kevin Smith Celebrates His 51st Birthday
Image
It's the best birthday ever for Kevin Smith who just kicked off filming on the long-awaited sequel Clerks III. In 1994, Smith launched his movie career with the release of the original Clerks, his directorial debut based on his life as a convenience store clerk. Recently, it was announced that Lionsgate had officially picked up Clerks III with filming slated to start in August. On Aug. 2, which just so happens to be Smith's 51st birthday, filming officially began.

"Grateful Undead: Today is my last day of being a 50 year old," Kevin Smith said on Twitter the day before shooting started. "I turn 51 tomorrow as we start shooting Clerks III - a sequel to a movie I dreamed about making 30 years ago, when I saw Richard Linklater's masterpiece Slacker for the first time on the night on my 21st birthday."

Clerks III Table Read Has Kevin Smith Stoked and Ready to Film Next Week
Image
As we've seen in recent days, Clerks III is already on the fast track to production with Kevin Smith doing table reads with the cast ahead of the director's plans to start filming as early as next week. Just recently, it was announced that Lionsgate had picked up the long-gestating project with Smith returning to direct the sequel. It was also confirmed that all of the original cast members would be returning with production slated to start in August.

On Instagram, Kevin Smith posted an image of himself with several of the Clerks and Clerks II stars that we'll be seeing in Clerks III. The photo was taken just after everyone had read through the script aloud together for the first time, and going by the smile on Smith's face, he seems to be very happy with how it's turned out. It sounds like old school Clerks fans will be happy as well,...

Horror comedy ‘Thursday the 12th’ gets its first trailer!
Image
Originally slated for release April of 2020 but postponed due to the pandemic, director Brad Leo Lyon’s (Little Creeps/Monsters on Main Street) latest film Thursday the 12th – a horror comedy in the realm of Evil Dead meets Mallrats with a touch of Tucker and Dale Versus Evil – is finally getting ready for a new theatrical roadshow, touring the country doing advanced theatrical screenings of the film followed by a Q & A in cities across the US, starting in June.

Starring such familiar faces as Todd Bridges (Different Strokes), Jena Sims (Kill the Messenger), Brian Sutherland (Z Nation), and Marilyn Ghigliotti (Clerks), Thursday the 12th follows two failed film school graduates closing in on their 30’s, the fearful Seth Franco and the unreliable James Rogen, who are stuck working the same jobs they had in high school. Life for these two already has its fair share of complications but things...

Thursday the 12th Sneak Peek Has First Look at Marilyn Ghigliotti and Todd Bridges
Kevin Smith, Marilyn Ghigliotti, Jeff Anderson, Brian O'Halloran, and Lisa Spoonauer in O Balconista (1994)
Ahead of her return as Veronica in the upcoming sequel Clerks 3, Clerks star Marilyn Ghigliotti will portray a gypsy in the new comedy movie Thursday the 12th. Aiming for a theatrical release this summer, the movie was originally scheduled to be released in April before theater closures and production delays brought about a change in plans.

Director Brad Leo Lyon also plans to be present at various screenings of the movie across the United States to participate in Q&a sessions with viewers after the movie plays, though the official road show tour dates have yet to be revealed due to what's been happening lately in the world.

Aside from featuring Marilyn Ghigliotti in a notable role, the View Askew influence in Thursday the 12th also feels apparent with its story. The movie follows Seth Franco (director Brad Leo Lyon) and James Rogen, a pair of slackers pushing 30 and still...

Sleeping Beauty, Clerks, Purple Rain and More Join National Film Registery
The Library of Congress has revealed the 25 movies that will be preserved as part of the National Film Registry for 2019. Librarian of Congress Carla Hayden revealed this year's selections, including seven titles directed by women, which is an unparalleled number. Some of the other key additions this year include Spike Lee's She's Gotta Have It and Kevin Smith's directorial debut Clerks.

This year's Library of Congress selections directed by women include Kimberly Peirce's Oscar-winning Boys Don't Cry, Greta Schiller's documentary Before Stonewall, Claudia Weill's Girlfriends, Gunvor Nelson's My Name Is Oona, Elaine May's A New Leaf, Patricia Cardoso's Real Women Have Curves and Madeline Anderson's I Am Somebody. 1971's A New Leaf is important, as May became the first woman to write, direct and star in a major feature released by an American studio. Clerks 3 Premiere Red Carpet
Clerks III Brings Back Marilyn Ghigliotti as Dante's Ex-Girlfriend Veronica
Clerks 3 Premiere Red Carpet
Another star from the original movie is returning for Clerks 3, as Marilyn Ghigliotti has announced her casting in the upcoming sequel. In the original Clerks, Ghigliotti starred as Dante's girlfriend Veronica - the one who brings him lasagna at work, not the one who sleeps with a dead guy in the bathroom.

On Friday, Marilyn Ghigliotti posted a series of photos on Facebook of a reunion with her Clerks co-stars, and in the caption, the actress confirms she will be reprising the role of Veronica in the new movie. She also explains how Smith revealed her casting to her during the photo shoot, with the photographer catching her genuine excitement. From the Facebook post:

"You've all been asking and I've been sitting on this since I found out because I needed to track down and wait for this series of photos. While at Comic-Con La, Kevin Smith was at the...

Clerks III Will Get Soundtrack Score from My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way
Kevin Smith
We still have much to learn about Clerks 3, which Kevin Smith now seems determined to make. But at the very least, the soundtrack is probably going to rock, literally, as former My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way is set to provide the score for the movie. For anyone who has been keeping on Way's career in his post-mcr years, this seems like a perfect match, considering his sensibilities, and considering what this franchise is.

According to a new report, Kevin Smith made the reveal during a recent stop on the Reboot Roadshow, his current tour which sees him making his way around the country to screen Jay and Silent Bob Reboot with Jason Mewes, which also includes a Q&a session after the movie. During said Q&a, the news was dropped on the audience. Unfortunately, for the time being, few additional details have been made available and Gerard Way...

Kevin Smith Announces Clerks 3 with Jeff Anderson Returning
Kevin Smith
It's back to Quick Stop for Kevin Smith, as the filmmaker has just announced his new plans to make Clerks 3. In a photo posted to his official Facebook account, Smith poses with Clerks co-stars Jason Mewes and Jeff Anderson, also revealing his intentions to finally develop the sequel. To be clear, Smith says he's begun writing an all-new screenplay for the third Clerks movie, meaning it won't be the same script he'd previously written when he tried to make the sequel in the past. Better yet, Smith confirms Anderson is finally on board to reprise the role of perennial service worker Randal Graves, meaning there shouldn't be any hold-ups for getting the movie made this time. From the post:

"3 Clerks! Thanks to the good folks at Leeloo Multiprops, I got to see Randal! Jeff Anderson, Jason Mewes, and I spent Saturday signing stuff and catching up, seeing so much movie...

Gal Gadot in Mulher-Maravilha 1984 (2020)
Comic-Con Best Of Film Schedule: ‘Wonder Woman 1984’, ‘Aquaman’, ‘Glass’ & More To Fill Void In Marvel-Less Year – Update
Gal Gadot in Mulher-Maravilha 1984 (2020)
Updated: With Wednesday, Thursday and Friday events. Captain Marvel, The Guardians of the Galaxy and whoever is alive from The Avengers won’t be showing up in San Diego, but there will be plenty of other big screen rivals to keep the temperature at a scorching level in Hall H.

At this point in time, many film screenings are oddly missing from the lineup, except for kiddie pic Teen Titans Go! To the Movies! on Friday. Perhaps there will be more as they’re often announced at the last minute or suddenly during the confab (Read Lionsgate’s Blair Witch). Comic-Con has traditionally been a successful launch pad for such fan faves as Sausage Party, Star Trek Beyond, The Visit, Annabelle: Creation and Don’t Breathe. Don’t worry, on the TV side there’s the AMC premiere of Better Call Saul season 4.

Also,...

Clerks: An Unlikely Multimedia Franchise
Mark Harrison Oct 19, 2019

How a 1993 indie hit from Kevin Smith gave birth to an unlikely franchise...

This article comes from Den of Geek UK.

In 1993, Kevin Smith made a movie. Clerks was shot in black and white over the course of three weeks, at night, in the convenience store where Smith worked during the day, on a shoestring budget of $27,575. Smith funded the film himself by dipping into his savings, selling all his comics and maxing out several credit cards.

Even though it became an indie phenomenon when it was picked up by Miramax (who gave it a new soundtrack using a post-production budget that was ten times the cost of principal photography) at the 1994 Sundance Film Festival, it doesn't have 'franchise starter' written all over it.

Long considered a Gen X touchstone, Clerks is a funny and filthy slice of life movie, which equates a working day for Dante...

Shooting Clerks’ Trailer: New Movie Goes Behind the Scenes of Kevin Smith’s Indie Classic
Kevin Smith
“Clerks” has inspired legions of loyal fans in its 22 years of existence, few of them more devoted than Christopher Downie. The 31-year-old filmmaker is set to make his debut feature with “Shooting Clerks,” a film about — you guessed it — the making of Kevin Smith’s debut feature. Featuring several original cast members and the same grainy, black-and-white look, the docu-fiction hybrid is set to make its premiere next month. Watch its first trailer below.

Taking a vaguely self-reflexive approach that blends aspects of Smith’s filmography with the more factual behind-the-scenes elements, Downie’s movie counts “Clerks” principals Brian O’Halloran, Marilyn Ghigliotti and Smith himself among its cast. (At 105 minutes, it’s also 15 minutes longer than its source material.)

'Shooting Clerks' Trailer: Kevin Smith Gets a Biopic
Kevin Smith
While more often than not, most biopics are usually reserved for popular musicians and Apple Computer CEOs. But the upcoming dramatic comedy Shooting Clerks revolves around indie director-turned-cult icon Kevin Smith. The story follows a young Kevin as he sets out to raise $27,000 to make his black and white comedy Clerks, which went onto become a surprise hit way back in 1994. The new film was written and directed by Christopher Downie, with the full cooperation of Kevin Smith.

Kevin Smith actually appears in the film, as do other Clerks participants such as Jason Mewes and Brian O'Halloran. The film hit IndieGoGo last year to raise money for production and now we have a first look with a teaser trailer. As for the story, no synopsis has been released, but we imagine it tracks Smith's efforts to get the movie off the ground, along with a look at what was happening...
