And one show in the TV universe that’s gone a long time without updates, The Madison starring Michelle Pfeiffer, has finally revealed some new details in the form of an interview with a previously unannounced cast member, Danielle Vasinova, who previously appeared in 1923. The last update on Sheridan’s Montana-centered drama came in October 2024, when Y: The Last Man alum Ben Schnetzer was cast as “a rancher,” sparking speculation about whether he might be playing The Madison‘s very own version of Rip Wheeler. Prior to that announcement, the high-profile series from Sheridan boasted a big-name cast, including star Pfeiffer, Lost alum Matthew Fox, Patrick J. Adams of Suits, Firefly Lane alum Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, and newcomer Elle Chapman. Kurt Russell was also rumored to be attached to the series, though that casting appears to have halted.

There are already several spin-offs in the works, and now it appears as if another secret Yellowstone project is on the horizon from Taylor Sheridan, or is it?

According to a report from the San-Antonio Express News, Sheridan has selected Ferris, Texas as the shooting location of his new Yellowstone spin-off, which is being called at this time Rio Palo (Spanish for "Stick River"), but that may just be a placeholder and not the show's actual title. The small town sits 20 miles south of downtown Dallas and is home to just 5,000 people.

"Ferris helped build Texas and the nation," said City Manager Brooks Williams in a statement, adding: "Paramount's decision to film here is one more chapter in that story.

Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 lands on Paramount+ on October 26 (as per Deadline). Jeremy Renner returns as Mike McLusky, stepping back into a city on the edge. Michelle Pfeiffer first worked with director Jonathan Demme on the 1988 crime comedy "Married to the Mob." Pfeiffer played Angela De Marco, a put-upon wife of a rising mobster played by Alec Baldwin. When he is killed, Angela has to find a way to live a normal life away from New York's gangland. It proves to be difficult: Every time she thinks she's out, they pull her back in. Demme was impressed with Pfeiffer's performance, and immediately wanted her to star in his next directorial project, an adaptation of Thomas Harris' 1988 airport novel "The Silence of the Lambs."

Even though Yellowstone came to an abrupt end after five seasons last year, there's still a lot to look forward to in the still growing franchise from Taylor Sheridan. The story will continue with the forthcoming spinoff series Y: Marshals on CBS, which will star Luke Grimes reprising his role on Kayce Dutton alongside franchise newcomer Logan Marshall-Green.

Of course, the Yellowstone spinoff that fans have been most excited to get their hands on is the one featuring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser returning as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler. The upcoming series, which was rumored to be titled Dutton Ranch, was supposedly set to make its premiere on either the Paramount Network or Paramount+ in November 2025. Y: Marshals will follow Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) leaving the Yellowstone ranch to join an elite group of U.S. Marshals to protect Montana and bring justice to the region. As the title suggests, he won't be alone, as another actor has elected to join the popular western saga.

It's been announced that Logan Marshall-Green has joined the cast of Y: Marshals. He will play Pete Calvin, a close friend from Kayce's military past, in the upcoming CBS series. The network announced the show earlier this year, which will have a 13-episode freshman season. As of this writing, an official premiere date has not been settled, but Y: Marshals is expected to debut during the 2025-2026 broadcast season on Sundays.

Luke Grimes finally has a co-star in Y: Marshals. The upcoming CBS drama series serves as a sequel spinoff to Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone.

Per Deadline, Logan Marshall-Green has been cast to co-lead Y: Marshals as Pete Calvin, a friend from Kayce's time in the military. The actor is best known for his work in the horror movies Devil (2010) and The Invitation (2015) as well as Leigh Whannell's Upgrade (2018) and Ridley Scott’s Prometheus (2012). He also played the first Shocker in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and will next appear in Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated The Odyssey, which is scheduled to hit theaters in July 2026. Marshall-Green also shares a striking resemblance to fellow Spider-Man actor Tom Hardy, with the two often being mistaken for one another by fans.

“Yellowstone” spinoff series “Y: Marshals” has tapped Logan Marshall-Green to lead the upcoming CBS drama series, according to media reports.

Marshall-Green will star opposite Luke Grimes, who reprises his role as Kayce Dutton from “Yellowstone,” in the new series. The show follows Grimes’ Kayce as he joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy Seal to bring justice to his home state of Montana, per the official logline.

Marshall-Green marks the second casting announcement for the new series and the first casting outside of the “Yellowstone” franchise for “Y: Marshals,” which is the show’s working title.

Marshall-Green is best known for starring in films “Upgrade,” “The Invitation” and “Devil,” and on the TV side, he can be seen in “Big Sky,” “Damnation,” “Dark Blue,” “Traveler” and “The O.C.” Marshall-Green also recently appeared on “Sex and the City” spinoff series “And Just Like That” as Adam.

Jonathan Kaplan, the five-time Emmy-nominated director/producer of ER and filmmaker behind projects like The Accused, Bad Girls and Unlawful Entry, has died at the age of 77, per multiple media reports.

His daughter Molly Kaplan said he died Friday at his home in Los Angeles of advanced liver cancer.

Kaplan was born in Paris on Nov. 25, 1947 to industry veteran parents, father Sol Kaplan, a film and TV composer, and mother Frances Heflin, a regular on ABC soap All My Children. (He was also the nephew of Oscar-winning actor Van Heflin.)

He began his career as a child actor in the Broadway production of The Dark at the Top of the Stairs, helmed by Elia Kazan. Later, Kaplan earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Chicago and studied film at New York University, where he was taught by Martin Scorsese.

Kaplan died Friday at his home in Los Angeles after a battle with liver cancer, his daughter, Molly Kaplan, told The Hollywood Reporter. “He was a loving, supportive father,” she said.

Kaplan, whose parents both worked in show business and whose uncle was Oscar-winning actor Van Heflin, served an apprenticeship with famed B-movie producer Roger Corman and then directed the blaxploitation classic Truck Turner (1974), starring Isaac Hayes, Yaphet Kotto and Nichelle Nichols.

Kaplan also guided Michelle Pfeiffer to a best actress Oscar nomination in the 1960s-set Love Field (1992), and his directing résumé included the Shirley Muldowney biopic Heart Like a Wheel (1983), starring Bonnie Bedelia and Beau Bridges; Bad Girls (1987), the distaff Western starring Madeleine Stowe, Mary Stuart Masterson,...
