On Feb. 19, 1957, she was performing onstage at the Allee Theatre in Stockholm, Sweden, in the play "Mr. Kettle and Mrs. Moon" when she suddenly collapsed and was rushed to a hospital. Tests showed that she had been stricken with a cerebral brain hemorrhage. She died in the hospital two days later.

Promoted as "the next Ingrid Bergman" by her studio's publicity, she actually bore her daughter in the same room of a Rome hospital where Bergman had twins the year before.

Daughter, Christina Bercovici (born April 20, 1953) in Rome, Italy, with her husband, Leonardo Bercovici.
