A voiceover artist known for her role in Beast Wars: Transformers has sadly been confirmed as having passed away.

Pauline Newstone was a Canadian voice acting talent with a long career, and she supplied her vocals to several franchises. These included Western animation, as well as English dubs of numerous anime. Newstone's passing at the age of 79 actually occurred early in May 2023, though the exact reasons are not currently known. The news was broadcast on Twitter/X by Candice Santora, a collaborator of Garry Chalk. Chalk worked alongside Pauline Newstone on the show that became one of her most notable gigs.

One of Pauline Newstone's most well-known roles was in the CGI Mainframe animated series Beast Wars: Transformers. This 1996-1998 cartoon was a unique entry in Hasbro's Transformers franchise. NBCUniversal International Networks has acquired crime drama “The Murders” across multiple European markets as well as for Africa, it announced Monday. The police procedural, which stars Jessica Lucas (pictured) will air from mid-2019 on Universal TV in the U.K. and Africa, and on 13thStreet in France, Germany, Spain, and Poland.

Created by Damon Vignale, the eight-part series follows a determined but fallible rookie homicide detective (Lucas) in Vancouver. After a fatal error on the job which costs the life of a fellow officer, she is driven to rectify her mistake and measure up to her late father, a highly decorated detective killed in the line of duty, searching for redemption in her investigations. Paris-based company About Premium Content (Apc) is on board to co-finance and handle international sales on “The Murders,” a gritty Canadian police thriller series starring Jessica Lucas. The series was created by Damon Vignale (“The Exhibition”) who is showrunning and executive producing.

The eight-part series is being produced by Arielle Boisvert at Muse Entertainment, in association with Rogers Media’s network Citytv. The series started to shoot Tuesday.

Lucas (pictured) stars as Kate Jameson, a rookie homicide detective who searches for redemption in her investigative work after indirectly causing the death of a fellow officer. Jameson is partnered with detective Mike Huntley (Lochlyn Munroe) with whom she navigates the case of a mysterious serial killer who uses music for destructive ends.

Lucas and Munroe star in the series opposite Dylan Bruce (“Orphan Black”), Terry Chen (“Jessica Jones”), Luvia Petersen (“Ghost Wars”) and Venus Terzo (“Arrow”).
