Screenwriter Hal Davitt and bit player Claudette Ford died along with Sweet in a plane crash in Big Bear, California, in 1933.

Comedy actor, with Universal (1919-20) and Century (1920-24). Later directed one- and two-reel shorts for Joe Rock, Mack Sennett, Pathe and RKO.

In March 1928, Sweet produced the one-reel film "Rhythms of a Great City in Minor" with a budget of only $164. The film was an early example of guerrilla filmmaking by shooting footage on busy streets and atop transit buses without city permits or permission from landowners. He extensively used jump cuts and tilted angles to tell four short stories.
