When Mike White landed in Thailand to film the third season of HBO’s The White Lotus, he was looking to create a symphony that could rival the sounds of Hawaii and Sicily.
The third season stars Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, Jason Isaacs, Lalisa Manobal, Michelle Monaghan, Sam Nivola, Lek Patravadi, Parker Posey, Natasha Rothwell, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Tayme Thapthimthong, Aimee Lou Wood, Scott Glenn, Charlotte Le Bon and Sam Rockwell.
“[The White Lotus] works best when it’s sort of like an orchestra. You want different voices and a whole variety. I also feel like that when it comes to casting, it’s fun to have actors who have different processes and different vibes. If you’re a connoisseur of taste, you want a little taste of this and a little taste of that,” White said, speaking during the Deadline Contenders at HBO Max event.

It’s clear Emmy voters remain fans of the HBO drama, which saw another impressive showing in this year’s nominations. Eight of the show's stars received nominations as did creator Mike White.
Best Drama Series: Nominated
The HBO series, which swept 10 Emmys in its first season and picked up five more in Season 2, has once again been nominated for Best Drama Series. At the time of the nominations, it was ranked third on Gold Derby’s odds list, behind Severance and The Pitt. It will go up against Andor, The Diplomat, The Last of Us, Paradise, The Pitt, Severance and Slow Horses.
Best Drama Supporting Actor: Nominated
The show had nine contenders in the supporting actor category, but only three earned nominations: Walton Goggins as Rick, Jason Isaacs as Timothy Ratliff, and Sam Rockwell as Frank. These three consistently ranked among Gold Derby’s top five contenders, with Goggins leading the pack.

The White Lotus cast may have better luck at the Emmys in Los Angeles than their on-screen counterparts did during their ill-fated Thai vacation. While tragedy shadowed the fictional guests at the resort, the series’ stellar Emmy track record hints at a much brighter fate this awards season.
If history is any indicator, The White Lotus is poised for another big night. The show’s first season swept 10 Emmys, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. Season 2 followed suit with five wins, among them Jennifer Coolidge’s win for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. In her now-iconic acceptance speech, Coolidge thanked creator Mike White, saying:
“Mike White, you have given me hope and changed my life in a million different ways. My neighbors are speaking to me. I mean it. I was never invited to one party on my hill and now everyone’s inviting me.”

Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan could soon be adding an Emmy to his ever-growing awards mantel.
Gold Derby has learned that HBO will submit The White Lotus Season 3 in 39 categories at the 2025 Emmys, including for Best Drama Series and 21 of its cast members.
Quan had an uncredited voice role as Kenny Nguyen in one episode of Mike White's buzzy vacation series. Kenny is the person who calls up Jason Isaacs' Timothy Ratliff while he was vacationing with his family in Thailand to discuss the financial crimes they committed together. The Everything Everywhere All at Once star is being submitted in Best Character Voice-Over Performance, which recognizes off-screen acting talent.
As for Isaacs, he's one of nine White Lotus stars campaigning in Best Drama Supporting Actor, along with Walton Goggins as Rick Hatchett, Sam Nivola as Lochlan Ratliff, Patrick Schwarzenegger as Saxon Ratliff, Tayme Thapthimthong as Gaitok, Jon Gries as "Gary"/Greg Hunt,...

The White Lotus, created by Mike White, is the hottest show in the world right now! The third season of the hit HBO series just came to an end in April 2025, four years after the series premiered in the summer of 2021.
The White Lotus is already coming back for season 4, and probably more seasons, honestly. There doesn't seem to be anything stopping this show from becoming an all-time great drama-comedy series.
To celebrate the greatness of this show, I ranked all three seasons of The White Lotus so far. Honestly, there is no "worst" season of this show. They are all good, but there's definitely one show that stands apart from the rest.

It’s time to check out from another season of The White Lotus, and before the final credits rolled on the latest edition of Mike White’s decadent dark comedy anthology, the shadow of death loomed large in Thailand. While season 1 saw the tragic demise of Murray Bartlett’s Armond and season 2 was a veritable bloodbath that had us waving goodbye to Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya McQuoid and ‘the gays,’ the bodies were again piled high in season 3.
As with any season of The White Lotus, it was anyone’s guess who’d be leaving in a body bag. I'm just thankful that Parker Posey’s Victoria Ratliff will live to fight another day (she has to be the new Coolidge for season 4). While Lochlan Ratliff (Sam Nivola) survived a brush with death at the wrong end of a poison shake, it was the end of the road for Walton...

Okay, let’s just admit it, The White Lotus could drop a season set inside a haunted porta-potty, and we’d still be seated with popcorn. After three seasons of stunning locations, questionable therapy breakthroughs, and, oh yeah, multiple casual murders, HBO’s bougie death-vacation series is back for round four. Honestly, who keeps giving five-star ratings to these cursed resorts?
Doesn’t matter, because we’re hooked like it’s the world’s most glamorous murder mystery dinner. With season 3 wrapping up in Thailand (and leaving us gasping like we forgot how to breathe), it’s official, creator Mike White is already cooking up season 4, and the stove is on fire.

The third season of The White Lotus ended on Sunday night with a record 6.2 million viewers watching the finale live on HBO and Max. (That's a 51 percent jump over the previous season's finale.) During and after the 90-minute episode, the Gold Derby forums were abuzz with comments good and bad, with people giving a specific shout-out to one actor who they thought got an Emmy boost. They also reacted to some of the show's various twists, and sounded off about the Season 4 location rumors.
Carrie Coon appreciation
Following the finale, Carrie Coon skyrocketed up Gold Derby's Emmy chart for Best Drama Supporting Actress. Her character, Laurie, delivered an emotional monologue in which she declared, "I have no belief system," which instantly went viral on social media. As a result, Allison Janney (The Diplomat) dropped to second place in our rankings, with The White Lotus costar Parker Posey as Victoria remaining in third.

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers for the Season 3 finale of “The White Lotus,” now streaming on Max.
Death came for Chelsea.
In “The White Lotus” Season 3 finale, Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) faced the third and final premonition of the saying “bad luck comes in threes” after she was caught in the crossfire during a shootout between Rick (Walton Goggins) and Sritala’s (Lek Patravadi) bodyguards at the resort.
Throughout this season of the Mike White-created show, Chelsea had warned Rick that something bad was going to happen, especially after learning that he was in Thailand to confront White Lotus owner Jim Hollinger (Scott Glenn), who had allegedly murdered his father. (Rick ends up having a “Star Wars”-esque father reveal about Jim in the final episode.)
Chelsea had already narrowly escaped death not once, but twice, during her anything-but-relaxing vacation. First, a masked man pointed a gun at...

The White Lotus has just broken the record it reached just a week ago. Tons of viewers, a total of 6.2 million to be exact, have tuned in to the explosive series finale of the third season, according to Variety. The recent record comes after Episode 7 garnered 4.8 million viewers, a 30% increase on Episode 6’s impressive 4.2 million views.
The dark comedy drama has been breaking records since it returned to HBO for a third season on February 16. The supersized Season 3 finale, the anthology series’ longest runtime yet, saw a 51% increase from the record brought by the second season’s finale and a 158% increase from the Season 3 premiere, per Variety. The 6.2 million total of Episode 8, which premiered on April 6, is a combined record of HBO and Warner Bros. Discovery’s streaming data on Max.

[This story contains major spoilers from The White Lotus season three finale, “Amor Fati.”]
At long last, Rick Hatchett found the man who ruined his life … then went ahead and ruined it some more.
The final episode of The White Lotus season three ended with a fateful bang for Rick (Walton Goggins) and girlfriend Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood), two of three series regulars who were gunned down in the climax of creator Mike White’s latest work. The third regular, of course, is the man Rick was hunting all season long: Jim Hollinger, the hotelier played by the iconic Scott Glenn. After one final fateful conversation, Rick grabbed Jim’s own firearm and shot the man in cold blood, only to learn a startling truth: Jim didn’t kill Rick’s father … Jim was Rick’s father.
There’s little time for the revelation to sink in before the bullets start flying, catching Chelsea in the crossfire and ultimately striking Rick down as well.

The highly anticipated final episode of The White Lotus season 3 finally answered the burning questions surrounding the Thailand vacationers. The 90-minute episode of the Emmy Award-winning series, which aired Sunday, included five shocking deaths, an attempted murder via blender, and an abundance of monks and monkeys. But beyond the suspense, the episode also explored the deeper themes that ran throughout the series: spirituality, family, friendship, and the meaning of life.
The shocking deaths
After Rick (Walton Goggins) returns from Bangkok, he and Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) have a romantic reunion on the beach. "I didn't kill anyone. I said what I had to say. I got the monkey off my back," he tells her. They walk off into the sunset as a disappointed Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger) looks on.
But when White Lotus owners Sritala (Lek Patravadi) and Jim Hollinger (Scott Glenn) return to the resort, Jim confronts Rick saying, "I remember your mother.

(Put down that mai tai and step away from the pool if you haven't watched "Amor Fati," the season 3 finale of "The White Lotus." Massive spoilers lie ahead!)
Out of all of the characters on the third season of "The White Lotus," Mike White's anthology series that always takes place in a different exotic locale, Walton Goggins' Rick Hatchett might have been the most troubled one from the outset ... which is saying something. Nobody on this show is "normal," per se; Jason Isaacs' character Timothy Ratliff finds out early in the season that he's probably going to prison for a variety of financial crimes, which builds to him nearly poisoning his entire family during "Amor Fati," the season 3 finale. I digress, though, because we're here to talk about Rick and his wild, revenge-fueled rampage through the fictional hotel that leads to his demise.

We all knew people were going to die in season 3 of "The White Lotus," Mike White's international anthology series that spent its third outing in Thailand. People die in every season, and in seasons 1 and 2, the manners of death were, frankly, ridiculous. The third season gave us three major deaths and a full action sequence to boot. So who died?
Let's start with — I'm sorry! — the least important death of the episode, Jim Hollinger (Scott Glenn), who turns out to be Rick's long-lost father. Yes, Rick came to this hotel in the first place because he mistakenly believed that "Big Jim" killed his father; as Jim's wife Sritala (Lek Patravadi) tells Rick in the aftermath of his shooting rampage, Big Jim was his father. Rest in peace,...

Note: This story contains spoilers from “The White Lotus” Season 3, Episode 8.
“The White Lotus” creator Mike White equated the resolution of the tense Season 3 finale mystery to a “classic Greek tragedy.”
Episode 8, titled “Amor Fati,” caught up to the tragic shooting at the White Lotus Thailand. Like any fans theorized, Rick (Walton Goggins) and Chelsea (Aime Lou Wood) ended up as two of the victims of the shooting — after Rick started the bloodbath when he shot and killed Jim Hollinger (Scott Glenn). Before his death, however, Rick learned from Sritala (Lek Patravadi) that Jim was actually his real father all along.
Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong) ended up pulling the trigger on Rick, as he tried to walk away from the scene with Chelsea’s body, who had been shot and killed in the crossfires as he tried to kill off Jim’s bodyguards.

“The White Lotus” Season 3 finale was a bloodbath that ended up with two dead and one red herring.
The finale brought all the stories crashing back together for the mysterious shootout we briefly heard playing out back in the premiere. The biggest questions were who was firing the gun, who was caught in the crossfire, and who was the body Zion (Nicholas Duvernay) found floating in the river — and whether it was even connected to the shooting or not.
All season long it has been anyone’s guess who would end up dead. Tim (Jason Isaacs) has been having suicidal fantasies for half the episodes, Rick (Walton Goggins) has been on a revenge-fueled manhunt for the person responsible for his father’s death, and Gaitok seemed to have finally figured out who robbed the resort.
Here is who did not make it out of the Season 3 finale alive.

Woody Harrelson almost joined Mike White in Thailand for “The White Lotus” Season 3, but his own family vacation plans got in the way.
Harrelson, who was in the running to play either Walton Goggins’ Rick or Sam Rockwell’s Frank, was speculated to have turned down the roles because of producer David Bernad’s policy that all “White Lotus” cast members get paid the same. However, in a statement released to The Daily Beast, Harrelson revealed that he passed on “The White Lotus” because of his own family vacation.
“I was set to do ‘White Lotus’ and very excited. Unfortunately, their production schedule shifted, and conflicted with a pre-planned family vacation, forcing me to make an extremely hard decision,” he said. “Things must be meant to be though, because I couldn’t have done as fantastic a job as Sam, who is killing it.”

How much do caskets go for in Thailand, anyway?
Fans have been buzzing all week about which The White Lotus character(s) will die in Sunday's finale. Could it be Gaitok, the lovelorn security guard; Timothy, the suicidal father who lost his family's money; Gary/Greg, the dangerous widower of Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge); or somebody else completely unexpected?
Gold Derby broke down all the scenarios and asked our readers to vote for the likeliest victim, and we can now reveal the results:
35 percent — Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong) 17 percent — Rick (Walton Goggins) 13 percent — Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) 13 percent — Gary/Greg (Jon Gries) 9 percent — Timothy (Jason Isaacs) 9 percent — Laurie (Carrie Coon) 4 percent — Lochlan (Sam Nivola) Gaitok
Gaitok leads our poll results, and for good reason: he just came to the realization that the hotel thieves are Valentin (Arnas Fedaravicius), Aleksei (Julian Kostov), and Vlad (Yuri Kolokolnikov). The security guard nearly stopped them in the act several episodes ago,...

Before the upcoming Season 3 finale, The White Lotus has just lost one of its key creative voices due to conflicts with series showrunner Mike White. The hit HBO drama, which has already landed a Season 4 renewal, will be without its composer moving forward. A startling piece of news for longtime fans, especially since the show's frenetic and iconic score does a lot to set the stage for the zany, twist-filled adventures of those staying at the White Lotus resort.
In an interview with The New York Times, The White Lotus composer Cristóbal Tapia de Veer was honest about his creative differences with Mike White, which seemed to grow as each season was made. After having conflicting visions for the musical score, including a back-and-forth about the lack of the “ooh-loo-loo-loo” chorus in Season 3, Tapia de Veer said he let the editorial team know that he was not returning for Season 4. The time for sitting back and relaxing has come and gone as Season 3 of The White Lotus has unfolded with all episodes barring the much-anticipated finale, the eighth installment of the Thailand-set third season, which will be nearly 90 minutes long.
Season 3 of Mike White’s prestige drama HBO tentpole series will set the record for the most episodes, as the first season had six and the second, seven. The Season 3 finale will also be the show’s longest episode to date across its multiple installments.
Season 2’s finale also ran over an hour with an additional almost 20 minutes (a total runtime of 78 minutes). The end of Season 3 of the tropical vacation drama series comes on the heel of the conclusion of Apple TV+’s Severance Season 2, which also had a supersized finale that was 77 minutes long.

If you thought the first two seasons of The White Lotus received lots of acting nominations at the Emmys, just wait.
Season 3, which comes to an end this Sunday on HBO, could end up beating the previous number of acting bids for both Season 1 (eight) and Season 2 (nine). Jennifer Coolidge won back-to-back Emmys for playing quirky resort guest Tanya McQuoid, while Murray Bartlett claimed gold for the first season as the Maui hotel manager.
The third installment, which focuses on wellness and spirituality in Thailand, boasts a whopping 17 series regulars as of the penultimate episode, which aired March 30. The actors can essentially be divided into four cliques: the Ratliff family; the female best friends; hotel employees/acquaintances; and those involved in a revenge storyline.
That doesn't even count the recurring actors billed as guest stars, such as Nicholas Duvernay as Zion, Arnas Fedaravicius as Valentin, Christian Friedel as Fabian, Dom Hetrakul as Pornchai,...

Following The White Lotus Season 3’s impressive viewership records (complete with an 89% critics score on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes), it’s only fair to end the satirical comedy-drama series in quite an exciting manner. According to HBO’s latest schedule (via Variety), the eighth episode of Season 3 will be the anthology series’ longest yet, spanning a total of 90 minutes. It will be 12 minutes longer than the second season's runtime.
The supersized Season 3 finale of The White Lotus is set to premiere on April 6, 2025. Of course, with an allotted 90 minutes for Episode 8, the finale is expected to answer all the questions left in the previous episodes, including the person behind the mysterious gunshot and the dead body during the first episode’s earlier moments. While Season 3 is nearing its imminent end, more vacation-gone-wrong stories await as the series had just been renewed for Season 4 earlier this year ahead of Season 3 premiere,...

Get ready for a supersized “White Lotus” finale.
The eighth and final installment of the vacation dramedy’s third season will span 90 minutes, according to the HBO schedule, marking the longest episode of the series to date.
The episode has a lot of loose ends to tie up in Thailand. Who fired the gunshots heard at the beginning of the series? Whose body is found floating in the hotel pond? What will happen between Belinda and Greg/Gary after his proposition? Will Timothy succumb to the darkness, and will he take any of his family members down with him? Will Gaitok confront the Russians after his realization at the Muay Thai match? Will the brothers ever talk about that sickening threesome?
As our Sunday-night vacation comes to an end, fans can rejoice, as Variety exclusively announced in January, before the Season 3 premiere, that Mike White’s series has already been renewed for a fourth season.

The most crucial pieces of the puzzle have started to fall into place in "The White Lotus" season 3. A lot is going on in Thailand's White Lotus wellness resort, where key players are currently at the cusp of their arcs before the season's bloody, climactic finale. As we're already aware that things are going to end with multiple gunshots and at least one dead body, that's all the more reason to play close attention to Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong), who managed to retrieve his officially mandated gun in the previous episode.
I know what you're thinking: Gaitok isn't the kind to shoot someone, let alone kill them, as he inherently lacks the instinct to be violent (even in self-defense). However, episode 7 casts some doubt on this assured belief, as we see Mook repeatedly egg him on to toughen up and ultimately expressing disappointment in his non-violent stance.

One would think that the penultimate episode of a season of "The White Lotus" would push us into the deep end. Surprisingly, season 3's seventh episode, titled "Killer Instincts," chooses to simmer in the tension while laying the groundwork for a messy, climactic finale. As seen in the season premiere, gunshots eventually go off inside The White Lotus' wellness resort in Thailand, closely followed by an out-of-focus shot of a dead body floating in the water. This ominous setup, paired with the possible advent of a tsunami, has made it clear the season finale might feature one or more casualties. There's good reason to genuinely fear for the lives of the season's many characters, as not everybody is morally reprehensible or rotten to the core.

“The White Lotus” Season 3, Episode 7 is one of the HBO drama’s most uncomfortable, unnerving to date. That’s saying something for a show that has mined plenty of material out of the kind of everyday social tensions that make you want to crawl out of your skin.
There is something heavy hanging over “Killer Instincts,” a thick, unshakable dread that makes every scene feel just one small step away from toppling over the edge of a cliff. Creator Mike White has adopted such a slow-burn approach to all of this season’s threads that resolution is starting to feel just around the corner, which is what makes “Killer Instincts” such a painful hour of television. Once again, White pushed “The White Lotus” forward without delivering the cathartic explosion of drama viewers long for. The result is an agonizing yet mesmerizing experience.

If what happens on vacation stays on vacation — what about those days in between whatever incident and the return home? For a few punitive days before it’s time to check in for the next flight, people who act with no consequences while on holiday are left to sit with exactly that and pore over their actions. Maybe you can’t relate, but characters in “The White Lotus” Season 3 surely can.
Episode 7 is all about consequences, or at least about what comes after making a critical choice. Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan), Kate (Leslie Bibb), and Laurie (Carrie Coon) finally speak their minds after too long tiptoeing. Lochlan (Sam Nivola) chooses to run away rather than face what happened with brother Saxon (Patrick Schwarzenegger), while sister Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook) might be regretting her decision to spend a year away from home. [This story contains major spoilers from The White Lotus season three, episode seven, “Killer Instincts.”]
It may have taken almost his entire vacation, but Rick Hatchett finally relaxed during Sunday’s episode of The White Lotus. For Walton Goggins, the wait was considerably longer. The apparent culmination of his antihero’s journey wasn’t filmed until almost the very end of the Thailand shoot, and the relief on his face at the end of the episode is as much his own as it is Rick’s.
“It took me six months and seven hours of this experience to smile, to really smile,” Goggins tells The Hollywood Reporter of the penultimate episode of season three. “It’s not joy, but there’s contentment or peace for a moment. Other actors would’ve arrived at that in very different ways and lived their life.”
Goggins has not been shy about how difficult the White Lotus shoot was for him.

Spoiler Alert: This piece discusses plot points from the seventh episode of The White Lotus.
The White Lotus is entering its violence era and things are getting “tense” at Greg/Gary’s fancy party.
The penultimate episode is dark with various threats of violence from Walton Goggins’ considering ending the man who killed his father to Jason Isaacs’ Timothy Ratliff continuing to fantasize about killing himself, his wife and his son and Tayme Thapthimthong’s Gaitok figuring out who was behind the armed robbery at the hotel, while attending a Muay Thai boxing match with his crush, Lalisa Manobal’s Mook.
Then there’s the nice house above the posh resort, where tensions are running high.
Jon Gries’ Greg/Gary, who planned to have his wife Tanya McQuoid, played by Jennifer Coolidge, killed in season two, before she drowned fending off her killers, and his sugar baby Chloe, played by Charlotte Le Bon,...

The White Lotus hit another viewership milestone with its latest episode, which proved to be quite a buzzy one.
The sixth episode of Season 3 drew 4.2M U.S. cross-platform viewers, eking out a win over the Season 2 finale, which previously held the series’ audience record with 4.1M.
It appears this season is on track to be the biggest one yet, as HBO says that episodes are pacing more than 5M viewers ahead of last season. Season 2 ultimately averaged around 15.5M U.S. viewers per episode.
On a global scale, HBO says that each Season 3 episode has hit a viewing high, though the company didn’t provide any numbers for viewership outside the U.S.
As mentioned, Sunday’s episode generated quite a bit of conversation on social media as well. The hashtag for the show was in the Top 10 trending topics on X for 10 consecutive hours in the U.S.

Can somebody please give Walton Goggin an award for acting almost entirely with his eyes? He did it on last week's episode of "The White Lotus," when his depressed maybe-hitman Rick sat through a stunningly unexpected monologue from an old buddy played by Sam Rockwell. This week, he's back at it again as the season enters its endgame -- which no doubt will have something to do with the man known as Jim Hollinger. Hollinger makes his entrance in an out-of-focus shot at the end of episode 5, and the hour ends with Goggins' almost imperceptibly shaken look.
The big twist here can be readily inferred, though we'll have to wait until next week for the show to confirm or deny it. Rick previously said that he knew hotel owner Sritala's (Patravadi Mejudhon) husband killed his dad when he was on what...

In addition to finding inspiration in “some part of Rachel Zoe, like that world,” Leslie Bibb revealed that she also consumed the Real Housewives franchise while playing Texas housewife Kate Bohr in Mike White‘s anthology series.

The third season of HBO's The White Lotus has introduced an entirely new cast of characters, and viewers are finding themselves just as, if not more, invested in their developments and exploits as those of the previous two seasons. One guest at the resort that many fans are currently seeing themselves drawn to the most is Rick Hatchett, played by Walton Goggins. Until now, not much had been known about his character or his true reasoning for dragging his girlfriend, Chelsea, to the White Lotus resort in Thailand. Episode 4, "Hide and Seek", has finally given them an answer, however, and it now has the fans all on the edge of their seats to find out what it could lead to next.

When we see Rick Hatchett (Walton Goggins) for the first time in season 3 of "The White Lotus," his latent anxiety becomes immediately apparent. As the boat carrying the guests slated to stay at The White Lotus' Ko Samui branch zooms towards the shore, we notice Rick's visible discomfort contrasted against his girlfriend Chelsea's (Aimee Lou Wood) endearing optimism. Rick's indifference towards the resort's natural beauty and what it has to offer its guests pervades throughout, rarely budging even when Chelsea gently coaxes him to unwind and have fun. "What kind of chip does this man have on his shoulder?" we are left to wonder, especially when the facades worn by every other guest are in the process of being unraveled.

Ahead of the premiere of “The White Lotus” Season 3, IndieWire spoke with Natasha Rothwell, who plays Belinda on the series. Belinda is just one of many characters in danger of ending up dead at the end of an uneasy week at the titular Thailand resort, and Rothwell was, of course, under strict orders not to give away the ending.
“God willing, I survive this season,” she said.
I couldn’t help but interject: “I’m really worried.”
“You should be,” said Rothwell. “Shit’s about to pop off. I’m stressed and I already know what happens. I stay stressed.”
That’s pretty much the sentiment governing Season 3, Episode 3, “The Meaning of Dreams,” written and directed by showrunner Mike White. All our key characters are inching toward catastrophe, whether that’s ending up dead in the...

“The White Lotus” has always had an edge of surreality — particularly in the way series creator Mike White films and blends together images of the show’s surrounding trees, waves and environments. But in the opening moments of “The White Lotus” Season 3’s third episode, White dives fully into the world of the surreal, catching up with Victoria Ratliff (Parker Posey) in the middle of a dream. As she stands on the beach and watches the calm sea in front of her, Lochlan’s (Sam Nivola) voice cuts through the noise like he’s standing right next to his mother. “This is what it looks like before a tsunami,” he says.
Sure enough, one begins to form on the horizon, threatening to wash away Victoria, Lochlan and — strangely — the Ratliffs’ North Carolina mansion, which sits out of place on the beach several dozen feet in the distance. Rather than run,...

[This story contains spoilers for The White Lotus seasons one, two and three.]
Though the beloved Jennifer Coolidge isn’t in The White Lotus season three, she still wants her character avenged.
While speaking with Forbes recently, the actress noted she’s keeping up with the new season that’s taking place in Thailand and she’s “envious as hell.”
Coolidge played fan-favorite Tanya in the first two seasons of The White Lotus before her character met a tragic demise at the end of the second installment. (Who can forget her iconic line: “These gays, they’re trying to murder me.”) She also won Emmys for both performances.
After Forbes‘ Jeff Conway suggested she should return as a twin sister to Tanya, the Riff Raff actress responded, “I know! Look, it’s not like I haven’t wished or whatever, but it isn’t happening. It doesn’t matter — they don’t need me. Mike White...

As Jason Isaacs joined the new cast of HBO‘s The White Lotus, he turned to a specific Bravolebrity for some inspiration.
The Golden Globe nominee said he has “the worst American accent an English person has ever done” on Season 3 of the Mike White-created series, which is set at the titular wellness resort in Thailand.
“I can live with it, because many people from North Carolina are going, ‘That sounds exactly like my dad,'” said Isaacs on GMA3.
“It came out on the internet that Mike [White] had asked us to watch Southern Charm, a great reality show, and somebody in it, people from Southern Charm went, ‘He’s clearly doing Thomas Ravenel,'” he added. “And Thomas, I am doing you, mostly, but not for two vowels, which are completely English.”
Isaacs plays patriarch Timothy Ratliff, who takes his wife Victoria (Parker Posey) and kids on a family vacation to the fictional hotel while he’s under federal investigation back home in the US.

Nivola, who plays son Lochlan, previously noted that White also gave him the reality TV homework, explaining to People that Isaacs “kind of modeled his whole accent and character” off the Bravo series that is currently in its 10th season.
Meanwhile, he noted that his onscreen sister Hook, who plays Piper, wasn’t given homework as she “had it down,” given her southern upbringing.
“I’m from Alabama,” said Hook. “I found out through you guys. I was like, ‘He didn’t tell me to watch Southern Charm! I’m feeling left out.'”
This season of the two-time Golden Globe-winning series also features Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Lalisa Manobal, Michelle Monaghan, Lek Patravadi, Aimee Lou Wood, and Natasha Rothwell.

Although Maria Shriver remained blissfully ignorant of her son Patrick Schwarzenegger‘s Nsfw debut on The White Lotus, not everyone in the family is so modest.
Patrick’s actor brother-in-law Chris Pratt, who is married to Katherine Schwarzenegger, recently commented on the HBO star’s nude scene in the Season 3 premiere, as well as his performance in the Thailand-set installment.
“Man, I know where my eyes went. I’m not blood-related, but I was looking at that dick, bro,” he joked to E! News. “No, he looks amazing. Obviously, he’s a physical specimen, but also he’s a really solid actor, because the character he’s playing is completely different than who he is.”
Pratt added, “He created a character. And it feels natural and good. I’ve been telling everybody for years, I’ve been telling him as well, I really think we’re entering a decade of Patrick.

HBO might just have its most popular season of The White Lotus yet.
Per the company, 3.4M U.S. cross-platform viewers tuned in for the second episode on Sunday night, which marks a 40% increase over the premiere episode’s 2.4M.
Speaking of the premiere, it has now amassed 10.2M viewers in the U.S., up 92% from the Season 2 premiere episode’s audience in the first week of availability. In terms of same-day viewers, the second episode of Season 3 is also already outperforming the second episode of Season 2, boding well for the remainder of the season.
The White Lotus is now apparently the second largest returning original series in platform history, behind only House of the Dragon Season 2.
The Season 2 finale still holds the series-high same-day audience of 4.1M viewers, but it seems as though the third season is on its way to surpassing that as well, and it could even...

There’s great drama to be found in irony, and “The White Lotus” knows this better than most shows. Sometimes there’s nothing less relaxing than going on vacation, as Tim Ratliff (Jason Isaacs) is starting to realize, and sometimes the most toxic people in our lives can be our closest friends. That contradiction is explored with uncomfortable accuracy in the opening of Season 3, Episode 2, which begins with Jaclyn (Michelle Monaghan) and Kate (Leslie Bibb) using Laurie’s (Carrie Coon) early excusal from their late-night drinking sesh to throw thinly-veiled jabs at their friend’s life.
After heaping praise upon her in the “White Lotus” Season 3 premiere, Jaclyn and Kate exchange gossip about Laurie’s career, her daughter and even her divorce. We all look for some kind of validation in our friends. The trick is doing it without tearing them down, which is a balance that neither Kate nor Jaclyn seem interested in striking.

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from the Season 3 premiere of HBO‘s The White Lotus.
The guests at The White Lotus have unpacked their bags and are starting to get over their jetlag, some with the help of wine and pharmaceuticals, but the mood is starting to get darker.
Each season of the HBO drama has created breakout moments from Armand and Shane’s meltdowns in season one to Tanya being chased by murderous gay men in season two.
The discourse around season three seems to be focusing in on the strangely incestuous relationship within the Ratliff family siblings; Patrick Schwarzenegger’s Saxon, Sam Nivola’s Lochlan and Sarah Catherine Hook’s Piper.
Episode two won’t do much to dampen down this storyline with Lochlan revealing to Piper that Saxon has been discussing her sex life. “Saxon says you’ve never had sex,” Lochlan says sitting in a sea hammock.
