- In 1992, he co-founded Image Comics along with Todd McFarlane, Erik Larsen, Jim Valentino, Jim Lee, Rob Liefeld, and Whilce Portacio.
- An animated series based on his Cyberforce comic book series was planned to air on Fox Kids between 1995 and 1996 along with fellow Image co-founder Rob Liefeld's Youngblood but neither show got picked up due to Marvel Entertainment signing an exclusive deal with the network.
- Created famed X-Men villain Mr. Sinister with veteran X-Men writer Chris Claremont.
