[on what writing provided her that acting didn't] The appearance of intelligence, I suppose, because my acting career is based on sex and stupidity, in terms of the characters I play. The writing gave me an appearance of "Well, I must be somewhat intelligent because I can put together sentences."

[on acting opportunities in her early 60s] I think I could do a lot with other things acting-wise, but because of the way I look, because of the way people see my movies, they don't think that way. Perhaps I could get some opportunity now as I get older to try something else, but the leads are gone now when you hit a certain age. You're not able to have that unless you are a Diane Keaton type of personality.

[why she started performing nude] An agent came along who told me that there were a lot of "coming-of-age" movies filming around town, and if I was willing to take off my clothes, I could earn $200 a day, which, in the late '70s, was a ton of money, especially considering my poor financial condition. So I took off my top in a lot of movies that I couldn't remember even if I tried.

[favorite sandwich, 1994] A Clint Eastwood-Kevin Costner sandwich with lots of mayo. You know, Clint on one side, Kevin on the other, and me as baloney in the middle.
