His brother of Doug is the former singer for the Alternative Rock Group "Cave" and now the front man for "The 1201" based out of Kona, Hawaii.

During his time at Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas, he played Rugby in the Southwest Conference, as he obtained his Bachelor of Science and Biology Degree.

Began playing golf at a very early age and subsequently won several tournaments throughout his early years. Won his first golf tournament at the age of 7 and his last at the age of 14 where he took home the Junior Club Championship at the Riverbend Country Club in Sugar Land, Texas, setting a course record (for his age group) of 86.

Every Superbowl Sunday, he is an annual participant in the Long Beach Polar Bear Splash for the Make A Wish Foundation.

He is a hands-on volunteer for the Make A Wish and The First Tee Organizations.
