The punk band Scared of Chaka was named in homage to Paley's "Land of the Lost" character.

There have been a few misleading urban legends regarding the actor who played Chaka: one was that Clint Howard played the character, and more recently, the band Sugar Ray was promoting that their guitarist, Rodney Sheppard, played the character. When a cease and desist letter was sent to Mr. Sheppard, he issued a public retraction and the issue was settled.

Has a BA in English from the University of California.

Is an accomplished martial artist (3rd Degree Black Belt -Tang Soo Do) under Masters Chuck Norris and Pat Johnson.
