Held the IWGP World Title on two occasions, giving him the distinction of being one of three Americans (along with Hulk Hogan and Big Van Vader) to hold that title.

He was a member of the original version of the new World order.

Norton has also held the I.W.G.P. World Tag titles on two occasions with Hercules Hernandez and Tony Halme.

Norton was one half of a team called "Fire & Ice" with Ice Train (aka MI Smooth). He later teamed with Buff Bagwell as "Vicious & Delicious".

In Fall 1996, Norton and Shinya Hashimoto won the NJPW Super Grade Tag League VI.
