- Louis Nerz nasceu o 15 de fevereiro de 1866 em Chlumetz, Böhmen, Austrian Empire [agora Chlumec nad Cidlinou, Bohemia, Czech Republic]. - His manuscript of Austria's most important contribution to expressionist cinema, the horror story Orlac's Hands, attracted attention. The director there was the German Robert Wiene, for whose Viennese productions Nerz wrote the screenplays several times at the end of his film career.
- He was an Austrian screenwriter and actor.
- Without having enjoyed any artistic training, Louis Nerz started his career in 1885 at the Budweiser City Theater.
- After initial leading roles, however, he soon had to settle for smaller roles. In the 1920s, Nerz was primarily active in film as a screenwriter and in this capacity worked primarily for 'Pan-Film'.
